Appearance
A compact, sharp-featured lightfoot halfling with olive-brown skin, close-cropped dark hair, and a narrow scar running from his left eyebrow to the edge of his cheek. His hazel eyes are constantly measuring exits, hands, and pockets. He favors immaculate dark leather, soft-soled boots, and a plain silver ring worn on a cord beneath his shirt. His smile is warm enough to invite confidence and practiced enough to conceal contempt.
Mannerisms
Briggo speaks softly and rarely repeats himself. He straightens crooked objects while thinking, tests chairs before sitting, and instinctively stands where he can see both the door and the nearest reflective surface. When lying, he becomes unusually generous with compliments.
Personality
Briggo is courteous, observant, and disarmingly patient. He remembers names, favorite drinks, family troubles, and the exact lies people told him months ago. He enjoys refined food and quiet rooms, but his pleasure is spoiled by the need to know who paid for everything. He is capable of loyalty, though it is possessive, conditional, and expressed through eliminating threats before anyone else notices them.
Ideals
Control. Freedom belongs to the person who knows the most and owes the least. If people can be made predictable, they can be made useful.
Bonds
His younger sister, Cerys, is imprisoned because of a choice Briggo made. He will ruin kingdoms, betray allies, or murder innocents to secure her release, though he refuses to admit how much of this is guilt rather than love.
Flaws
He treats trust as a weakness and kindness as an opening. When frightened, he becomes cruelly practical, choosing the option that preserves his advantage even when another choice would preserve his soul. He keeps score of every favor and secretly despises anyone who offers help without demanding payment.
Quirks
Background
Briggo Crwst was born in a riverside halfling quarter where every family had two trades, one respectable and one kept quiet. His mother ran a laundry, his uncle repaired locks, and Briggo learned early that the difference between a useful secret and a dangerous one was usually who paid to hear it. He began as a runner for a smuggling ring, carrying coded messages beneath bread crusts and memorizing which watchmen drank on duty. His small size made him easy to overlook, while his pleasant manners made people regret overlooking him only after their purses were gone. By adulthood, Briggo had become an assassin and information broker, specializing in jobs where the victim had to die believing everything was still under control. A burglary that went wrong left his old criminal network fractured and his younger sister imprisoned by the gang's former leader. Briggo escaped with the gang's ledger, but he did not rescue her. He tells himself that the ledger was more valuable, that one life could not outweigh the names of dozens of powerful clients. He has never stopped calculating the cost of that decision. Now he travels as a discreet thief, fixer, and killer, building wealth and influence until he can buy his sister's freedom or silence the man who sold her.
