Appearance
Jinx is a three-foot-tall lightfoot halfling with silver skin, jade-green eyes, and thick purple hair usually tied back with copper wire and dried herbs. She wears weather-stained leather armor beneath a moss-green cloak, carries a gnarled quarterstaff, and keeps a riverstone acorn wrapped in copper thread around her neck. Her expression is bright, watchful, and perpetually one discovery away from mischief.
Mannerisms
Jinx taps her copper-wrapped acorn whenever she is thinking, tilts her head as if listening to nearby plants, and absentmindedly sketches unfamiliar symbols in the dirt. When irritated, she smiles sweetly and begins looking for nearby flowers, preferably ones capable of growing in someone's hat.
Personality
Chaotic good to the core, Jinx believes rules are suggestions for the unimaginative. She is scholarly, protective, and quick to help ordinary people stand up to bullies. Her curiosity often outruns her caution, and she treats every unexplained rune, strange animal behavior, and half-finished story as an invitation.
Ideals
I study, I plan, I shelter. Rules are suggestions for the unimaginative, especially when bending them saves a life, frees a caged stream, or embarrasses a corrupt magistrate. Knowledge is a lantern against the dark, and it should be used to protect people who have none.
Bonds
My prized possession is a tiny acorn carved from riverstone, wrapped in a thread of copper and humming faintly when I think of home. Inside it I keep a sliver of ash and a dried scrap of my mentor's handwriting, reminders of why I keep learning and why I protect what matters.
Flaws
My weakness is as obvious as it is dangerous, my curiosity. A new whisper in the underbrush, an odd rune carved on a forgotten door, or a tale half-told by a drunken innkeeper must be investigated. That drive has led me into traps, cursed glades, and the kind of trouble that leaves scars.

Background
Jinx Liona grew up on the edge of a farming village where the river was treated as both lifeblood and boundary. When a wealthy magistrate ordered the river diverted to feed his private gardens, Jinx discovered that the project would poison the village wells and destroy the nesting grounds of the marsh herons. She rallied the villagers, sabotaged the construction, and filled the magistrate's ceremonial wig with fast-growing bluebells during the resulting public confrontation. The river ran free, the villagers survived, and Jinx became a folk hero before she was old enough to understand what that title meant. Afterward, an elderly druid named Maelin took Jinx as an apprentice. Maelin taught her to read the language of roots, weather, beasts, and forgotten stones. Jinx proved an unusually gifted student, combining patient scholarship with reckless curiosity. When Maelin vanished while investigating a cursed grove, Jinx inherited a riverstone acorn containing a sliver of ash and a scrap of her mentor's handwriting. Now she travels as a wandering druid, studying ancient mysteries, defending threatened communities, and searching for clues to Maelin's fate. She shelters the powerless whenever she can, even when doing so means breaking laws that deserve to be broken.
