- Experimental ElixirLevel 3
You gain proficiency with alchemist's supplies. You can create an experimental elixir when you finish a long rest by mixing chemicals in an alchemist's supplies. The elixir's effect is determined by rolling a d6: 1 healing, 2 swiftness, 3 resilience, 4 boldness, 5 flight, or 6 transformation. A creature can drink the elixir or administer it to another creature as an action. You can create additional elixirs by expending a spell slot, and an elixir you create this way lasts until consumed or until the end of your next long rest.
Always on
- Magical TinkeringLevel 1
You can use thieves' tools or artisan's tools with which you are proficient as a spellcasting focus for your artificer spells.
- Magical TinkeringLevel 1
You can imbue a Tiny nonmagical object with a minor magical property, such as emitting light or a sound, or displaying a short message. You can have a number of such objects active at once equal to your Intelligence modifier, and the effect lasts indefinitely until you end it.
- SpellcastingLevel 1
You can cast artificer spells using Intelligence as your spellcasting ability. You prepare four artificer spells after a long rest, choosing from the artificer spell list. You can use thieves' tools or artisan's tools as a spellcasting focus.
- Infuse ItemLevel 2
At the end of a long rest, you can infuse one or more nonmagical objects, turning them into magic items. You know four infusions and can have up to two infused items at a time. Infusions include Enhanced Defense, Enhanced Arcane Focus, Replicate Magic Item, and Repeating Shot.
- Alchemist SpellsLevel 3
You gain proficiency with alchemist's supplies. You always have healing word and ray of sickness prepared, and they do not count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.
- Artificer Specialist: AlchemistLevel 3
You choose the Alchemist specialization, focusing on restorative and transformative alchemy. Your specialist features include Experimental Elixir and Alchemist Spells.

If Hadrik does not know a piece of lore, he usually knows where and from whom it can be obtained. He can often recall information from libraries, archives, universities, or other learned people, though the DM may decide that the information is inaccessible or unusually obscure.

Appearance
A lean, middle-aged human with close-cropped dark hair, meticulously combed and parted, and a neatly trimmed beard. His leather apron is too large in the shoulders and patched at both elbows, but the little brass clasp at his throat is polished to a mirror shine. He smells faintly of rosemary, hot metal, and medicinal spirits.
Mannerisms
He rubs his thumb along the edge of his polished brass clasp while thinking, then explains difficult ideas by sketching little diagrams in the air with one finger.
Personality
Patient with confused beginners and stubbornly curious about everything else. He is gently sociable, but his habit of asking one more question can make even a friendly conversation feel like an examination.
Ideals
Knowledge should be useful. A discovery that cannot ease suffering or solve a practical problem is only a curiosity.
Bonds
He keeps a battered notebook of the river ward incident and intends to repay every person harmed by his failed tonic, even if they never ask him to.
Flaws
He can become so absorbed in proving a theory that he overlooks what frightened or exhausted people need in the moment. When a mistake is his, he has trouble accepting help because he believes he must personally make it right.
Quirks
Background
Hadrik Voss spent most of his youth in the cramped reading rooms of the Serevane Institute, where he copied treatises on medicines, metals, and the stubborn ways materials fail. He was a careful scholar, though never a quiet one: when a passage puzzled him, he would build a small device to test it, filling the archive with clicking gears and the sharp scent of boiled herbs. His tutors tolerated the noise because his experiments often answered questions their books could not. When a batch of his experimental tonics spoiled and sickened several people in the river ward, Hadrik took responsibility rather than burying the mistake in academic language. He left the Institute to learn practical alchemy from healers and craftspeople, carrying his notes, his tools, and a lasting suspicion of any theory that has never been tested on a real problem. Now he travels as an artificer, repairing equipment and tending injuries along the way. He sends regular letters back to the Institute, but has not yet found a recipe he trusts enough to call a cure.
