- Draconic ResilienceLevel 1
At 1st level, Sheshan's hit point maximum increases by 1 and increases by 1 again whenever he gains a level in this class. Appearance
Sheshan is a lean half-elf man with warm brown skin, long black hair threaded with a few naturally silver strands, and clear gray-green eyes. He dresses in a well-cut but travel-worn artisan's coat over a deep blue shirt, with a silver dragon motif worked into the collar. His hands bear faint stains from dyes, metal polish, and alchemical dust. He stands with one foot slightly forward and most of his weight on the balls of his feet, as though ready to step around a workbench or out of danger. Within a minute of meeting him, people notice his controlled breathing and soft, sibilant voice, which becomes quick and whistle-like when he is frightened or angry.
Mannerisms
He rests his thumb against the side of his index finger as though testing an invisible seam. When calm, he speaks in a low, breathy murmur and pauses to inhale through his nose before answering. When rattled, his breathing becomes shallow and his sibilants sharpen into a faint whistle. He habitually checks the balance of any tool placed within reach.
Personality
Sheshan is curious, quick-witted, and generous with practical help. He treats every unfamiliar object as a puzzle and every stranger as a possible source of a useful story. He dislikes rigid authority, but he respects people who can explain why a rule exists. He is warm in small, immediate ways, repairing straps, sharpening knives, and quietly paying debts before anyone asks.
Ideals
Freedom. No one should be owned by a guild, a bloodline, a prophecy, or a dragon. A person's work and choices should belong to that person.
Bonds
The Guild of Fine Mechanists sheltered my family when we had nothing, and I will defend its apprentices and honest workers from exploitation. I also carry my father's unfinished pocket watch, whose final mechanism may contain a clue to the source of my draconic magic.
Flaws
I become reckless when someone treats craft, labor, or knowledge as beneath them. I also hide mistakes until they become much harder to fix, because admitting that I lost control of my magic feels worse than facing the consequences.
Quirks
Background
Sheshan was raised between two worlds in the river city of Qasira. His elven mother worked as a bookbinder and illuminator, while his human father repaired instruments, locks, and fine household mechanisms. Sheshan inherited both their patience and their habit of taking broken things apart before deciding whether they were worth saving. He joined the Guild of Fine Mechanists as an apprentice, where he developed a reputation for delicate work, unconventional repairs, and a troubling tendency to make metal sing when he was frustrated. The singing became something stranger during a workshop fire. Trapped beneath a fallen beam, Sheshan called out in panic, and a wave of silver-blue cold burst from his lungs, freezing the flames and coating the tools around him in rime. The guildmaster recognized the mark of an ancient silver dragon in his magic and helped him conceal the incident from frightened customers. Since then, Sheshan has studied sorcery alongside craft, treating both as disciplines of pressure, balance, and controlled release. He now travels to earn commissions, investigate the origin of his draconic power, and make certain that no guild, noble, or dragon decides what his gift must become.
