Appearance
Anya is a lean human woman with ash-brown hair streaked naturally with silver, pale gray eyes, and a small scar across her left eyebrow. She wears a weathered black cassock beneath fitted leather armor, with a silver holy symbol at her throat and a dark violet cloak clasped by an unfamiliar star-shaped seal. Arcane script is tattooed along her fingers, faintly glowing whenever her patron's power answers her call.
Mannerisms
Anya touches her holy symbol before answering difficult questions, writes small notes in the margins of every book she reads, and lowers her voice to a reverent whisper whenever discussing anything supernatural.
Personality
Anya is compassionate, incisive, and irreverently curious. She offers practical help before comforting words, distrusts pompous leaders, and treats forbidden knowledge as a responsibility rather than a temptation. Beneath her confidence is a constant fear that the voice in her mind understands her better than her friends do.
Ideals
Mercy must be active. If someone is suffering, compassion that does nothing is only another form of cowardice.
Bonds
The Lantern of the Last Dawn sheltered Anya when no one else would. She will protect its people and return to save it if danger comes, even if doing so means defying her patron.
Flaws
Anya is quick to challenge authority, especially when leaders invoke tradition to excuse cruelty. She also hides the truth about her pact, fearing that admitting its nature would cause her allies to abandon her or try to destroy her.
Quirks
Background
Anya Greymoore was raised in the Lantern of the Last Dawn, a small temple devoted to protecting travelers, the sick, and anyone abandoned by the powerful. She became an acolyte because she believed the gods listened most clearly to ordinary people in desperate moments. Her sharp mind made her a gifted student of scripture and occult history, while her forceful presence allowed her to defend the temple's vulnerable pilgrims when sermons were not enough. During a winter plague, Anya discovered a sealed reliquary beneath the temple. Inside was a black glass fragment that whispered warnings about a catastrophe approaching from beyond the stars. When the temple elders refused to investigate, Anya broke the seal and accepted a pact with the entity within, gaining eldritch power in exchange for carrying its message into the world. She still serves the powerless, but now she must decide whether her mysterious patron is a guardian, a manipulator, or the very disaster it claims to oppose.
