Appearance
Dante is a lean, sharp-featured aasimar man with ash-gray skin, luminous silver eyes, and black hair streaked with white at the temples. A faint golden halo appears above his head when he invokes celestial power, though it flickers like a candle in a draft. He dresses in a weathered black robe beneath leather armor, with a silver holy symbol at his throat and an arcane orb wrapped in dark prayer cords at his belt.
Mannerisms
Dante pauses before answering even simple questions, as though consulting an invisible tribunal. He straightens crooked objects, inspects written contracts for hidden clauses, and touches his holy symbol whenever someone makes a promise.
Personality
Dante is composed, formal, and relentlessly observant. He speaks with the measured cadence of a priest delivering a verdict, even when ordering breakfast. Beneath his severity is a genuine desire to protect ordinary people from forces they cannot understand. He is slow to trust, but once someone has earned his confidence, his loyalty becomes nearly absolute.
Ideals
Order. Mercy without structure becomes favoritism, and justice without discipline becomes vengeance. The law must stand above personal feeling.
Bonds
The Temple of the Last Lantern sheltered and educated me. I will protect its innocent members, even if I must expose the corruption of its leaders.
Flaws
I confuse obedience with virtue and can become cold or punitive when others refuse to follow a rule I consider necessary.

Background
Dante Ashborn was raised in the Temple of the Last Lantern, a stern order devoted to preserving sacred law and judging disputes between mortals and the supernatural. His celestial heritage made him an object of reverence to some and suspicion to others. The priests taught him scripture, ritual, and the careful weighing of testimony. Dante excelled at the work of an acolyte, especially the old texts that described bargains with beings beyond the mortal world. He believed that every oath created an obligation, and every obligation had a proper consequence. His faith began to fracture when the temple archives revealed that his bloodline had been cultivated by an ancient celestial intelligence known as the Pale Seraph. The being offered Dante power in exchange for service, claiming that the temple had mistaken obedience for justice. Dante accepted the pact, not out of rebellion, but because he believed the truth had to be tested through action. Now he travels as a warlock and religious investigator, using eldritch magic to expose broken oaths, corrupt priests, and supernatural forces that hide behind holy authority. He remains devoted to order, though he is no longer certain who has the right to define it.
