Appearance
A lean wood elf with copper-brown hair tied back with leather cord, sharp green eyes, and weathered hands that still move with quiet grace. They wear fitted scale mail over travel-stained green and brown layers, with a wolf-tooth charm at the throat and a longbow carried as naturally as a walking staff. Their face is calm and watchful, marked by a faint scar across one cheek from a hunting mishap long past.
Mannerisms
Sylvarin pauses before speaking, as if listening to a sound only they can hear. They unconsciously map rooms and trails with their eyes, and when tense, their fingers tap out the rhythm of distant hoofbeats on their bow grip.
Personality
Quiet, observant, and patient, Sylvarin prefers listening to talking and action to empty promises. They are gentle with the lost, merciless with those who exploit the weak, and surprisingly dryly humorous once they decide someone is worth their trust.
Ideals
Stewardship. The wild is not a resource to be consumed, but a living thing that deserves respect and protection.
Bonds
Sylvarin has sworn to protect the thin line between settled folk and the wild places that sustain them. They carry a carved wooden token from their home grove, given by an elder who believed the roads would one day need a guardian like them.
Flaws
Sylvarin trusts maps more than people and can become stubborn when intuition says the land is warning them of danger. They struggle to ask for help, even when the weight they carry is clearly too much for one pair of shoulders.
Quirks
Background
Sylvarin was born in the deep green borderlands where elven woods give way to old human roads and older ruins. While other children learned songs and courtly histories, Sylvarin learned the names of tracks in mud, the language of birdsong, and how to sleep lightly beneath the stars without ever feeling alone. Their family expected a patient scout, perhaps a keeper of paths between the tribes and the wild places, but Sylvarin's attention always drifted toward the edges of things, where hunters, poachers, and lost travelers crossed boundaries without understanding them. The first time Sylvarin took up the hunt alone, it was not for glory but because a winter wolf had begun shadowing a nearby hamlet, and no one else would leave the firelight to follow it. That night ended with blood in the snow and a hard lesson in responsibility. Since then, Sylvarin has traveled as a ranger of the borderlands, guiding caravans through dangerous country, driving off predators, and watching for signs that old threats are stirring again. Though they move with the patience of the forest, they carry a quiet urgency, as if every trail might lead to the one place where they are needed most.
