Appearance
Spectre stands six feet two inches tall, with a lean, athletic build shaped by constant movement and combat. His devilishly handsome face carries a day's worth of dark stubble, framed by short, neatly trimmed brown hair. His perceptive eyes seem to notice every weakness, hidden weapon, and unspoken thought in the room. He wears obsidian-black studded leather armor beneath a heavy hooded black wool cloak trimmed in black and brown fur. A silver clasp fastens the cloak at his throat, and his matching black boots make almost no sound when he moves.
Mannerisms
Spectre speaks in a smooth, refined British aristocratic cadence, even when threatening someone. He adjusts his silver cloak clasp before entering danger, maintains unwavering eye contact, and often answers a question with a precise observation about the questioner's posture. When thinking, he taps two fingers against his wrist as though checking for a pulse that may no longer be there.
Personality
Spectre is effortlessly charming, detached, and observant. He makes people feel fascinating because he listens with complete attention, remembers tiny details, and speaks with calculated warmth. His confidence borders on arrogance, but his control is so complete that it rarely becomes offensive. He is courteous even toward enemies, though the courtesy often feels like the final warning before violence.
Ideals
Order. The world is cruel because it is chaotic, and the vulnerable suffer whenever the strong act without restraint. Every power must be disciplined, every promise must have weight, and every life must be given the chance to choose its own path.
Bonds
The forgotten children of every city belong to him in some small way. He secretly maintains a network of safe houses, food caches, and escape routes for street urchins, and he will risk almost anything to prevent a powerful person from exploiting them.
Flaws
Spectre believes that if he can understand death completely, he can eventually master it. This obsession makes him reckless with his own life and dismissive of ordinary danger. He also has difficulty accepting help, because dependence feels too much like the helplessness of his childhood. Beneath his polished charm lies a cold habit of judging everyone by how useful they might be in a crisis.
Quirks
Background
Spectre remembers hunger before he remembers his family. He grew up in the alleys beneath a city that preferred not to see its abandoned children, surviving through theft, misdirection, and an uncanny talent for appearing exactly where no one expected him. His first lessons in combat came from evading watchmen and gang enforcers. His true training began when an aged monk found him calmly standing beside the body of a man who had tried to kill him. Rather than punish him, the monk taught him discipline, breath control, and the difference between surviving violence and mastering it. Years later, Spectre vanished from the monastery during an experiment involving a forbidden mirror said to reflect the spaces between worlds. He returned three days afterward, alive despite having been declared dead, carrying knowledge of distant planes and movements that seemed to leave echoes of himself behind. Since then, he has treated death as an inconvenience rather than an ending. He travels from city to city beneath his black hood, collecting debts, protecting the forgotten, and testing the limits of his own impossible nature. He claims his immortality is not a blessing, and his perfectly calm smile suggests that he knows precisely what it is costing him.
