Appearance

Goblina is a green-skinned goblin with sharp yellow eyes, black hair, and a permanent look of smug triumph. The top of one ear is missing, a souvenir from a frantic chase with a city guard. She is almost never seen without Frederic, her towering custom robot suit of scrap metal, wood, crystal braces, and layers of duct tape. The armor is patched, angular, and loudly overengineered, with glowing seams and little cosmetic flourishes meant to make it look regal.

Mannerisms

She speaks as if she is always one sentence away from revealing a genius plan. When pleased, she taps two fingers against Frederic's plating like she is petting a loyal hound. She often stands on tiptoe or on a crate when not inside the suit, as if the world is personally insulting her by being built too high.

Personality

Goblina is vain, brilliant, and impossible to humble. She talks like a visionary, treats every workshop as a throne room, and considers herself the rightful standard by which beauty, intellect, and engineering should be measured. Despite her arrogance, she is intensely loyal to the few people she claims as her own, and her affection is as fierce and possessive as her temper.

Ideals

Perfection. If something can be improved, rebuilt, or made more beautiful and useful, then it has an obligation to be better. Goblina believes excellence is not inherited, it is engineered.

Bonds

Frederic is more than armor to her, it is her life’s masterpiece, her servant when she is annoyed, and her son when she is feeling sentimental. She protects the people who have earned her respect with frightening devotion, and she will destroy anyone who threatens them without hesitation.

Flaws

Goblina cannot resist taking credit for every clever thing she sees, even when it was clearly someone else's idea. Her pride makes her reckless, especially when her intelligence is questioned or her craftsmanship is mocked. She also has a dangerous habit of escalating insults into threats, and if someone hurts a person she loves, her mercy disappears entirely.

Quirks

Calls Frederic by name and apologizes to it when it gets dented.
Measures strangers by how much respect they show for craftsmanship.
Keeps tiny trophies from scams and heists hidden in armored compartments.
Hisses whenever someone says elves are charming.

Background

Goblina spent her youth furious at the world for refusing to admire her properly. Orcs were stronger, goliaths were bigger, and elves, in her eyes, committed the unforgivable crime of being charming. She decided that if the world would not bow to her naturally, she would build a body that made it impossible to ignore her. That obsession became the C.U.M project, Create Ultimate Machine, a grand lie told to herself and everyone else, funded by black-market deals, stolen trinkets, con games, and enough duct tape to bind a dragon's ego shut. She learned fast that intellect could buy what size and strength could not. Goblina scammed adventurers, robbed nobles, and traded favors with smugglers until her workshop became a cathedral of scrap, crystal, and stolen genius. At last, Frederic was born, a walking suit of weaponized vanity that gave her the strength she craved and the height to loom over elves with satisfying contempt. Now she travels as an adventurer not to save the world, but to prove that she was always meant to be the most brilliant, the most splendid, and the most impossible goblin alive.
