Appearance
Tall and lean, Kaela has bronze skin, thick spiraling horns, vivid crimson eyes, and a barbed tail that moves with easy precision. She favors sleek black leather and silver-accented tactical clothing, fitted for motion and intimidation, with a worn holster at her hip and a collar of jeweled metal at her throat. Her expression usually settles into a smirk that suggests she already knows the angle you have not considered.
Mannerisms
She speaks softly when she is most dangerous, often tilting her head as if listening to a private joke. When thinking, she taps one clawed fingertip against her lower lip or traces the edge of a bracelet, and when amused she lets the corner of her mouth lift first, as if the rest of the smile has not decided whether to trust you.
Personality
Kaela is sharp-witted, observant, and unflinchingly pragmatic. She is charming when it serves her, cruel only when it is efficient, and loyal in the narrow but absolute way of someone who understands value. She enjoys testing people with layered jokes, half-truths, and calm, unblinking eye contact, because she believes the truth is revealed by pressure, not promises.
Ideals
Freedom. No throne, guild, or law deserves obedience simply because it demands it. Power should belong to those clever enough to seize it, and she prefers systems that reward competence over birthright.
Bonds
She keeps a hidden ledger of everyone who has ever helped, betrayed, or purchased a favor from her, and she intends to settle every account on her own terms. Despite her cynicism, she protects the few people she claims as hers with ruthless consistency.
Flaws
Kaela trusts leverage more than she trusts people, and she assumes every kindness has a hidden price. She can be dismissive of idealists, reckless when a plan insults her intelligence, and dangerously tempted to prove she is the smartest person in the room.
Quirks
Background
Kaela was born in the undercity slums of Atrix Isle, where every alley had a price and every favor came with interest. Her mother taught her how to slip locks, read a mark, and vanish before a patrol rounded the corner. Her father taught her a more permanent lesson, how to end a problem cleanly, quietly, and without remorse. By the time she was grown, both were dead, claimed by the same brutal system they had spent their lives outwitting. Kaela survived by taking what better men thought they owned, and by learning that charm opens doors while fear keeps them open. Her talent for observation and manipulation eventually pulled her out of gutter-level crime and into higher circles, where she learned that the rich and powerful are only better dressed versions of the desperate. She joined the organization not from loyalty, but from calculation, because influence was safer than obscurity and information was worth more than coin. As a Mastermind rogue, Kaela became the one who maps a room in a glance, predicts which voice will crack first, and knows exactly when to offer help and when to let someone believe they are still in control. She is now the second in command because she is the one who makes people disappear, problems included.
