Appearance
Korth is a hulking Lizardfolk with deep indigo scales and pale yellow eyes that seem to flicker with static. He wears heavy chain mail that has been treated with animal fat to resist rust, and a tattered crimson cloak marks him as a member of his crew. His shield is made from the shell of a giant sea turtle, charred by lightning strikes.
Mannerisms
He stands perfectly still for long periods of time, staring at the horizon without blinking, then suddenly snaps his head toward anyone who speaks.
Personality
Korth is clinical and pragmatic, viewing the emotions of mammals as chaotic weather patterns that must be endured. He speaks with a dry, rasping hiss and rarely wastes words. He believes that the 'Crimson Current' is a literal extension of the ocean's hunger, and he finds peace only when the sky is turning black with rain.
Ideals
Destruction. The storm is the only true constant, and it exists to test the strength of those who dare to sail.
Bonds
I am loyal to the captain of the Crimson Current, for they were the first to treat my visions as tactical assets rather than omens of doom.
Flaws
I am indifferent to the suffering of others, seeing death as a natural transition no different than a change in the tides.
Quirks
Background
Korth was once a tribal elder in the submerged mangrove forests of the south, where he interpreted the will of the storm for his people. When a massive cyclone destroyed his tribe's nesting grounds, Korth did not mourn, instead, he recognized the event as an invitation from the gods of the gale to witness the true power of the sea. He wandered the coasts until he found the 'Crimson Current', a pirate crew that thrived in the very conditions that killed his kin. Onboard, he serves as the Ship's Shaman and Weather-Witch. He uses his mastery over thunder and lightning to mask their approach during raids, ensuring the 'Crimson Current' strikes like a literal bolt from the blue. To him, every ship they sink is an offering, and every life taken is a ripple in the great oceanic cycle that he is destined to serve.
