Appearance
Indeg is a slim, athletic tiefling woman with pink skin, dark eyes, black swept-back horns, sharp nails, retractable fangs, and a long expressive tail. Her dark hair is usually braided close to her head for travel. She wears a weathered hooded leather coat, practical woodland clothing, worn boots, and a forest-green scarf. Her longbow, Nightbloom, is crafted from dark polished wood and marked with subtle flower-shaped carvings. A small journal belonging to her adoptive father rests inside her pack.
Mannerisms
Indeg studies exits, windows, and nearby cover whenever she enters a settlement. She speaks softly and directly, pauses to listen to birds and wind before making decisions, and touches the carved grip of Nightbloom whenever she remembers Eryndor.
Personality
Quietly observant and compassionate, Indeg is more comfortable listening to forests than speaking in crowded rooms. She is endlessly curious about ordinary people and customs, often asking sincere questions about festivals, family traditions, and city life. She gives trust cautiously, but once someone has earned it, she becomes steadfast and fiercely protective.
Ideals
Protection. Strength has meaning only when it is used to shield those who cannot shield themselves. No one should be abandoned simply because they are strange, weak, or unwanted.
Bonds
Eryndor's memory is the compass by which Indeg lives. She protects his journal, Nightbloom, and the ancient forest where he rests. She also feels responsible for anyone who is lost, frightened, or judged before they are understood.
Flaws
Indeg struggles to accept help and often assumes she must handle danger alone. She is slow to trust anyone who judges by appearances, yet she can become recklessly protective of strangers who remind her of her younger self. Questions about her birth can unsettle her more deeply than she admits.

Background
No one knows where Indeg Valor came from, not even Indeg herself. On a stormy autumn night, she was abandoned in a woven basket beside an ancient woodland shrine dedicated to forgotten spirits of the wild. Eryndor, an elven ranger who had guarded the forest for centuries, found her and spent days searching for whoever had left her behind. When no answers came, he chose to raise her as his daughter. Beneath towering oaks, Indeg learned to read tracks, predict storms, identify herbs, move without disturbing leaves, and hunt with patience rather than waste. Eryndor also taught her that strength existed to protect others, kindness was not weakness, and a person's choices mattered more than their appearance. When a strange sickness began withering the forest, Eryndor became ill while trying to contain it. Before his death, he made Indeg promise not to become the guardian of only one forest, but a guardian of people. At eighteen, she buried him beneath the oldest oak and left the woods carrying his journal, his lessons, and the longbow he made for her, Nightbloom. Villages often met her horns and tail with suspicion, but she answered prejudice with deeds. She guides the lost, drives away bandits, hunts dangerous beasts, and quietly helps those who cannot repay her. Now she wanders as a ranger and protector, honoring Eryndor through every life she saves while quietly searching for the truth of her unknown birth.
