Atlas is a bronze-skinned halfling of remarkably sturdy build. Her hair is dark but streaked with the gray of granite, tied back in a sensible braid. She wears heavy chain mail over tunics colored in deep siennas and ochres. Her shield is thick and battle-scarred, and she is rarely seen without her heavy satchel of scrolls and ink-stained fingers.

Stoic and methodical, Atlas treats social interaction like a lecture series. She speaks with a slow, deliberate cadence and prefers the company of ancient texts to the rowdiness of taverns. She is a believer in absolute stability, valuing the foundation of the earth and the foundation of the law equally.

Atlas was never a halfling of the fields or the hearth. She was born in the shadows of the Oakhaven monastery, raised by monks who archived the geological history of the mountain range. She spent her youth transcribing the tremors and shifts of the earth, eventually coming to believe that the tectonic plates were the literal handwriting of the gods. To Atlas, every mountain is a temple and every stone is a word of scripture. During a catastrophic earthquake that threatened her home, she discovered her prayers could manifest as a stabilizing force, holding the library ceiling aloft through sheer faith. This revelation turned her from a mere clerk into a Cleric of the foundation. She now travels as a seeker of stability, looking to protect the weak and document the changing face of the world. She believes her namesake implies a duty to carry the weight of the world, or at least the knowledge within it, for the benefit of those who come after.
