Appearance
Willow Moonflower is a tiny female vineshey with a body made mostly of springy young vines, curling tendrils, and smooth green stems. Two large polished seeds serve as her eyes, and her small mouth has no teeth. Blue and white flowers bloom across her shoulders, arms, head, and hips, glowing softly in colors that reflect her emotions. Happiness brings a warm blue radiance, embarrassment causes pale flickering light, and fear makes the blossoms fold inward. She wears carefully fitted wooden armor shaped by her own carpenter's hands, along with a shield woven from flexible roots. Two thorny vine whips grow from her back and coil at her sides. Her voice is shy and musical, with a faint rustle beneath every word.
Mannerisms
Willow leans slightly toward whoever is speaking, as if trying to catch every note of their voice. Her blossoms brighten when she is pleased and tuck close to her body when she is embarrassed. When nervous, she hums a three-note melody and quietly rubs a thumb over the grain of her wooden armor.
Personality
Willow is gentle, curious, and easily delighted by small discoveries. She is shy around crowds, but becomes animated when discussing plants, woodworking, or the habits of woodland creatures. Her kindness is sincere rather than foolish, although her lack of worldly experience sometimes makes her startlingly naive. Beneath her soft voice is a perceptive and clever mind that notices changes in posture, scent, weather, and growing conditions.
Ideals
Growth. Nothing should be discarded merely because it is strange, damaged, or unfinished. With patience, care, and the right conditions, almost anything can become something beautiful.
Bonds
She carries her adoptive father's worn pruning knife and keeps his grove alive in his memory. She wants to discover whether other vinesheys exist, and hopes to create a safe home where lonely people and strange growing things can belong.
Flaws
Willow is too willing to assume that anyone who speaks gently must be kind. She can become stubbornly protective of damaged plants, broken furniture, or lost causes, even when retreat would be wiser. When frightened, she sometimes promises far more than she can safely accomplish.
Quirks
Background
Willow Moonflower was made in a quiet woodland workshop by an old druid who had spent too many years speaking only to trees. He shaped her from living vines, planted two moonflower seeds where eyes should be, and gave her a heartwood core warmed by druidic magic. He called her his daughter before she understood what the word meant. In time, Willow learned to tend his garden, repair his furniture, catalogue his books, and listen to the forest for changes in weather, pests, and passing strangers. Her blue and white blossoms first began to glow when he laughed, and later learned to dim when he was tired. After his death, she remained in the grove for years, caring for the house and waiting for his return before finally accepting that the work he left unfinished had become hers.
