Appearance
Aurelia is a tall, elegant drow woman with obsidian skin, waist-length white hair, and vivid violet eyes that rarely blink. Her lightly armored robes are cut in the style of a surface-world samurai's formal attire, layered black and deep crimson silk over concealed leather protection. A lacquered spider motif decorates her shoulder guard, while her curved rapier hangs at her hip like a ceremonial katana. Tiny spiders occasionally emerge from her sleeves, collar, and veil, moving across her body as if they are part of her clothing.
Mannerisms
Aurelia bows with the rigid precision of a duelist before questioning someone. She pauses after every answer, tilting her head as though listening to a spider hidden in her collar. When displeased, she slowly traces one finger along the guard of her curved blade.
Personality
Aurelia is exquisitely polite, intensely observant, and almost impossible to surprise. She treats every social interaction as an interrogation disguised as etiquette. She takes genuine pleasure in discovering inconsistencies, especially when doing so allows her to reward obedience or punish arrogance.
Ideals
Devotion. Truth is whatever survives the judgment of Lolth. The faithful must expose weakness, crush dissent, and make obedience beautiful.
Bonds
House Malice gave Aurelia purpose, status, and a sacred duty. She will destroy anyone who threatens the house, even if doing so requires sacrificing a favored relative. She also keeps one ancient spider-silk cord from her first successful heresy investigation, convinced it was personally blessed by Lolth.
Flaws
Aurelia cannot tolerate uncertainty. When evidence is incomplete, she invents the missing pieces rather than admit ignorance. She is vain about her beauty and manner, secretly terrified that either could fail her. She also mistakes cruelty for strength and sees mercy as an invitation to future betrayal.

Background
Aurelia Malice was born beneath the cruel magnificence of Menzoberranzan, into a minor but ambitious branch of House Malice. From her first breath, priestesses measured her worth by the intensity of her devotion to Lolth. Aurelia answered every test with unnerving enthusiasm. She learned the liturgies before she learned courtesy, memorized the genealogies of rival houses before she learned music, and came to understand that every conversation contained a hidden plea, threat, or betrayal. Her beauty became another instrument of judgment, useful for coaxing secrets from the vain and provoking confessions from the desperate. During an investigation into suspected surface sympathizers, Aurelia discovered a collection of strange illustrated manuscripts describing the warriors of distant human realms. She became fascinated by their discipline, formal gestures, curved blades, and ritualized obedience. To Aurelia, their bushido was merely an imperfect surface imitation of the devotion demanded by Lolth, but she adopted it nonetheless, reshaping the style into a theatrical expression of drow supremacy. Her robes conceal a colony of spiders that she feeds with pinches of dried meat and drops of her own blood. She believes their movements are signs from the Demon Queen of Spiders, and the creatures have become her living network of watchers, crawling through cracks, listening beneath doors, and returning to her with the evidence she needs.
“From her first breath, priestesses measured her worth by the intensity of her devotion to Lolth.”
