Appearance
Zephyr is a striking tiefling woman with a lean, athletic build shaped by hard labor, climbing, running, and close-quarters combat. Her skin is deep crimson, like dried blood or polished garnet. Thick spiraling horns curve back from her temples, framing cropped silver hair. Her eyes are rich crimson and perpetually amused, while her full lips often form a knowing smirk. In casual settings she wears a cropped black tank top, fitted dark cargo pants, steel-toed combat boots, a worn leather jacket, and simple silver jewelry. In the field she wears a matte black tactical bodysuit, reinforced modular vest, fingerless gloves, silent-soled boots, and a hood or balaclava that leaves only her burning red eyes visible.
Mannerisms
Zephyr rolls her shoulders before a fight, taps the side of her pistol when thinking, and tilts her head slightly whenever someone lies. She speaks in a low, smooth voice with dry timing, rarely raises it, and often answers threats with a faint smirk. In unfamiliar rooms, she automatically notes every exit, reflective surface, and elevated firing position.
Personality
Sharp, sardonic, and fiercely loyal, Zephyr is calm under pressure and uses dry humor as both armor and weapon. She respects competence, despises cruelty for sport, and trusts actions far more than promises. Her loyalty is absolute once earned, but earning it requires consistency, courage, and the willingness to stand beside her when things become dangerous.
Ideals
Freedom. No one should be owned, caged, or reduced to a tool. Power is worth having only when it is used to keep the vulnerable from being crushed by someone stronger.
Bonds
Vikasha's organization gave Zephyr a second chance, and she will defend its people even when she disagrees with its leaders. She secretly supports a network of orphaned street children on Atrix Isle and intends to give them the safe haven she never had.
Flaws
Zephyr assumes every kindness has a hidden price. She can become cruelly efficient when frightened, and the psychic hunger left by the Shadowstalker sometimes makes her consider violence before negotiation. She also has a dangerous habit of taking responsibility for everyone under her protection, even when doing so places the entire team at risk.
Quirks
Background
Zephyr grew up in the undercity slums of Atrix Isle, where abandoned transit lines, maintenance shafts, and overcrowded tenements became her classroom. As a child, she learned to climb before she learned to read, to recognize danger by the sound of footsteps, and to disappear before stronger people could decide what she was worth. Her tiefling heritage made her a convenient target for suspicion, but it also taught her never to wait for acceptance. She survived by running messages, stealing food, opening locked doors, and taking only the jobs that kept her alive without turning her into the kind of predator she hated. Her talent for tracking and infiltration eventually brought her to Vikasha's organization, where she became one of its most reliable Stalkers. A disastrous operation against the Shadowstalker left her bleeding in an alley and scarred by a psychic assault that sharpened her senses while awakening a deep, unsettling hunger. Rather than surrender to it, Zephyr turned discipline into a weapon. She studied wilderness pursuit with the same intensity she once applied to urban survival, learned battlefield magic from a hard-bitten arcane weapons instructor, and refined her ambush tactics until she could strike before an enemy knew she was present. She now fights with a suppressed SMG, compact pistol, combat knife, and carefully chosen spells, protecting the people she considers hers while making certain no one ever owns her again.
