Appearance
A lean wood elf with weathered copper-brown skin, moss-green eyes, and long dark hair braided with feathers, acorns, and river stones. She wears practical leather armor under a cloak of overlapping leaves and woven bark, and carries a carved ash staff wrapped in living ivy. Her movements are quiet and deliberate, as if she is always listening to the forest before she speaks.
Mannerisms
She speaks softly and pauses often, as if choosing words the way she would choose safe ground. When thinking, she unconsciously traces circles on bark, stone, or her own wrist. She thanks plants after using them, and she always looks at the sky before making promises.
Personality
Patient, observant, and quietly fierce, Thalarae listens longer than most people expect and speaks only when her words can change something. She has a dry sense of humor that appears suddenly and then vanishes like a fox in brush.
Ideals
Balance. Nature is not a thing to be conquered, but a relationship to be tended. Every creature has a place, and every place has a voice.
Bonds
She carries a pouch of seeds gathered from the last untouched glade of her homeland, and she will not let that grove be forgotten or destroyed.
Flaws
She can be stubborn to the point of recklessness when she thinks the land is being disrespected. She trusts the honest hunger of beasts more readily than the polished promises of nobles, and she sometimes assumes people who cut down trees are incapable of understanding anything else. In unfamiliar cities, her silence can read as judgment.

Background
Thalarae was born beneath the high boughs of an old elven forest where roads were treated as temporary wounds in the earth. As a child, she was more interested in the tracks of deer than the speech of courtly elders, and she learned to read the land the way others read books. When loggers and hunters began pushing deeper into sacred groves, she was the one sent to follow their trail, mend what she could, and warn off what she could not. What began as a duty became a calling, then a vow. The forest answered her patience with magic, and she answered in kind, learning to bargain with rain, root, and thorn rather than command them. Years of wandering as an outlander taught her how fragile harmony can be when hunger is near. She has slept under open skies, bartered with trappers, guided lost children home, and buried more than one creature that did not deserve to die alone. Now she travels beyond the borders of her first home, carrying seeds from dying clearings and ash from burned ones. Thalarae believes every scar on the land can become a lesson if someone is willing to listen long enough. She does not hate civilization, but she distrusts anything that calls itself progress while leaving the soil poorer than before.
