Appearance
Kallista is a Tiefling of Chthonic descent with skin the color of damp ash and long, straight black horns that sweep back from her brow. Her eyes are a solid, glowing milky white with no pupils. She wears heavy chain mail of black iron that is meticulously maintained and polished. She often carries a heavy, iron-bound book at her hip alongside her longsword, its hilt shaped like a closed fist.
Mannerisms
Kallista has a habit of tapping her fingers in a rhythmic, militaristic sequence against her shield while waiting for others to finish talking.
Personality
Kallista is cold, analytical, and profoundly unsympathetic. She speaks with a quiet, measured cadence, treating every conversation like a logical proof. She believes that emotion is a biological weakness that interferes with the necessity of absolute order. She does not take pleasure in cruelty, but she views it as a necessary tool for maintaining control and stability.
Ideals
Power. The world is a mess of chaotic variables that only a singular, powerful will can solve through total domination.
Bonds
I carry the original military doctrines of a fallen tyrant. I will see their principles restored in a new age.
Flaws
I cannot empathize with the suffering of others, viewing it only as an inefficiency in my grand design.
Quirks
Background
Kallista began her life as a researcher in the Great Archive, spending decades cataloging the rise and fall of empires. Her studies led her to a singular, grim conclusion. Chaos is the natural state of existence, and it only leads to ruin and suffering. She realized that the only kingdoms that flourished were those governed by iron wills and unyielding strength. To her, the heroes of history were not the kind-hearted, but the conquerors who dared to impose order upon the world. This revelation transformed her from a passive observer into a weapon of absolute law. She traded her ink-stained robes for iron mail, taking the Oath of Conquest to serve as the firm hand the world lacks. She views her Chthonic heritage not as a curse, but as a reminder of the cold, inevitable end that awaits those who refuse to submit to her vision of a structured world. Now, she wanders the lands not to save them, but to catalog their weaknesses and eventually bring them under a singular, unbreakable rule.
“Her studies led her to a singular, grim conclusion.”
