Appearance
Corinus is a broad-shouldered human man with pale skin weathered by sun, dust, and years beneath armor. His dark hair is kept short in the practical style of a legionary, and heavy stubble frames a strong jaw. A narrow scar cuts across his right eye, a souvenir of the battle that made him the Hero of East Askia. He wears well-maintained steel plate over a dark gambeson, a black cloak pinned at the shoulder, and a silver holy symbol at his throat. Even while standing at ease, he rests most of his weight on the balls of his feet, as if expecting a command to advance.
Mannerisms
Corinus checks every doorway before sitting, keeps his back to a wall when possible, and unconsciously counts exits and nearby allies. He addresses people by rank or earned title until invited to use their given name. When angry, he becomes quieter and begins polishing his shield.
Personality
Corinus is disciplined, warm, and unexpectedly charming. He speaks with the measured confidence of a veteran officer, but he remembers the names of servants, stable hands, and frightened recruits. He enjoys music, campfire stories, and the rare chance to let Elara correct his pronunciation of woodland songs. In danger, his humor vanishes and his attention becomes absolute.
Ideals
Duty is not obedience to a banner. It is the deliberate choice to stand between the helpless and the harm that seeks them.
Bonds
His wife, Elara, a wood elf and former battle companion, is the person to whom he returns after every campaign. Flaws
Corinus has difficulty accepting that a battle is truly over. He is suspicious of easy victories, overprotective of younger soldiers, and sometimes mistakes compromise for cowardice. When Elara or an innocent is endangered, his careful discipline can collapse into a frightening willingness to sacrifice himself and anyone who stands between him and the threat.

Background
Corinus Lunus was born to a family of tenant farmers on the western marches, where every able body learned early to carry, mend, and endure. He enlisted in the Askian legions as a young man, drawn less by glory than by the certainty of discipline. He became a shield captain, valued for his steady judgment and his ability to keep frightened recruits moving when the battlefield dissolved into smoke and screaming. During the defense of East Askia, Corinus held a breached gate with a handful of soldiers until civilians could escape. He survived with a scar across his right eye and a reputation that spread far beyond the army, earning him the name Hero of East Askia.
