Appearance
A tall, broad-shouldered tiefling woman with deep russet skin, swept-back ivory horns, amber eyes, and thick black hair braided with blue thread. Her tail bears old calluses from years of hauling carts and tools. She wears practical chain mail over a faded homespun tunic, with a blue-painted wooden holy symbol tied at her throat.
Mannerisms
She tests the balance of any weapon placed in her hands, taps her thumb against her holy symbol when thinking, and speaks to frightened animals in a low, patient murmur.
Personality
Nadimara is steady, practical, and quietly compassionate. She is more comfortable repairing a broken wagon than delivering an inspiring speech, but she notices who is hungry, who is limping, and who is pretending not to be afraid. She distrusts grand promises and respects people who keep small ones.
Ideals
Protection. Power has meaning only when it is placed between the vulnerable and the thing that would destroy them.
Bonds
The people of her home village trusted her when fear would have been easier. She will return whenever they call, and she carries a small blue wheel token made by the village children.
Flaws
She assumes that anyone who speaks elegantly is trying to hide something. When frightened, she becomes controlling and gives orders instead of admitting uncertainty.
Quirks
Background
Nadimara Odukai was born in a farming village where people learned to judge one another by the work of their hands rather than the color of their skin. Her infernal blood still made some neighbors uneasy, especially when her eyes flashed in anger or her voice carried an unnatural resonance. Her mother taught her to repair harnesses and wheels, while her father taught her that strength existed to keep others standing. Nadimara grew into the village's strongest hauler and most reliable caravan guard, though she had little patience for ceremony or clever words. Her life changed when a group of raiders descended on the village during a winter festival. Nadimara held a burning gate long enough for families to escape, using a woodcutting axe and a farm cart as an improvised barricade. She survived with a scar across her left shoulder and a stubborn conviction that courage without purpose was only violence wearing a better mask. A traveling priest recognized that conviction and gave her a battered sword, teaching her the first principles of paladinhood. Nadimara now travels to learn what kind of oath she can honestly swear, seeking deeds that prove her worth more clearly than any ancestry ever could.
