Appearance
A broad-shouldered dark-skinned human man with a quiet, grounded presence. His body is visibly augmented in several places, including reinforced metal along his right shoulder, forearm, and ribs, all integrated into old military injuries rather than polished for display. Scars mark his torso, neck, and hands. His irises are a striking flat grey. Tattoos cover his left arm in layered geometric bands, unit marks, and small personal symbols. He carries a double-bladed scimitar with a dark haft and keeps his arcane focus mounted in the center guard. When summoned, his spectral companions resemble translucent figures formed from blue-white lines of light and drifting fragments of possible weapons.
Mannerisms
Before speaking, Korin takes a measured breath through his nose, as if checking that his body is still responding correctly. He stands slightly too close when listening, then notices and steps back with an apologetic nod. His augmented joints make a faint metallic click when he is tense. He often turns his weapon's central grip in one hand while thinking.
Personality
Korin is patient, observant, and quietly protective. He speaks in a low, careful voice and prefers practical kindness over dramatic reassurance. He notices exits, weak walls, injured allies, and anyone standing alone. Around strangers he appears stern, but his summons reveal a gentler side, carrying supplies, holding doors, sorting tools, and performing small tasks while he works.
Ideals
Potential. No one is limited to the shape they were born into, and no wound, rank, or past failure gets the final word on what a person can become.
Bonds
He carries the broken insignia of his former regiment and will risk himself to protect soldiers, medics, and civilians abandoned by their commanders.
Flaws
He has difficulty accepting help and often treats cooperation as a test of whether he is still useful. When frightened, he becomes controlling and starts assigning everyone a position, even when nobody asked him to.
Quirks
Background
Korin Aulak served for years in a border regiment where battles were often decided by broken bridges, poor visibility, and who could hold a position a minute longer than expected. During a disastrous retreat, he was caught beneath a collapsed siege engine and survived only because the army's field artificers replaced damaged bone and muscle with articulated metal supports. The work saved his life, but it also left him changed. His movements became stronger in some ways and less natural in others, accompanied by the soft click of internal mechanisms when he turns too quickly. After returning to service, Korin began seeing brief outlines of alternate versions of himself during moments of danger, each one taking a different stance, wielding a different weapon, or making a different choice. A Fullomancer recognized the phenomenon as the first stirrings of Fullomancy and taught him to give those possibilities form. Now Korin fights beside spectral companions, shaping weapons from condensed magic and letting his echoes occupy the places where he might have stood. He still serves people before causes, but he no longer believes that survival means returning unchanged from war.
