15 featuresBonus action
- TraitDwarfStonecunning, allowing Beppi to gain Tremorsense out to 60 feet for 10 minutes as a Bonus Action while touching or standing on stone. He can use this a number of times equal to his Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.
Always on
- Turn Undead
When When Undead threaten Beppi or his companions
Beppi raises his holy symbol and calls on divine power to repel Undead within 30 feet. Affected creatures must make a Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened and Incapacitated for 1 minute, ending early if they take damage.
- Spike Growth
When When enemies cluster or attempt to pursue the party
Beppi invokes the patient strength of roots and stone, creating a field of thorny growth in a 20-foot radius. The area is difficult terrain, and creatures entering or moving through it take piercing damage.
- Charm Animals and Plants
When When a Beast or Plant can be calmed instead of fought
Beppi points his pine-cone staff at a beast or plant and delivers a booming, heartfelt lecture about cooperation. The creature must resist his divine influence or become Charmed.
- Warding Bond
When When an ally is about to face serious danger
Beppi slams his shield into the ground and calls on the endurance of the mountain. A chosen ally gains protection against several common forms of damage for the spell's duration.
- SpellcastingLevel 1
Beppi can cast cleric cantrips and prepare six cleric spells of 1st or 2nd level. Wisdom is his spellcasting ability. He uses a holy symbol as a spellcasting focus.
- Channel DivinityLevel 2
Beppi can invoke divine power twice between Long Rests. He can use Channel Divinity to turn Undead, forcing each Undead within 30 feet that can see or hear him to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is Frightened and Incapacitated for 1 minute, or until it takes damage.
- Channel Divinity: Charm Animals and PlantsLevel 3
As a Magic action, Beppi can expend Channel Divinity to present his holy symbol and invoke the power of nature. Beasts and Plants within 30 feet that can see or hear him must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be Charmed by him for 1 minute. While Charmed this way, a creature is Friendly to him and other creatures he designates.
- Acolyte of NatureLevel 3
Beppi gains proficiency in the Nature skill. He also learns two Druid cantrips of his choice, which count as Cleric cantrips for him and use Wisdom.
- Bonus ProficienciesLevel 3
Beppi gains proficiency with Heavy armor and Woodcarver's Tools.
- Nature Domain SpellsLevel 3
Beppi gains the Nature Domain's always-prepared spells. At Cleric level 3, these are Animal Friendship, Speak with Animals, Barkskin, and Spike Growth. He can cast them using available spell slots.
- TraitDwarfDarkvision, allowing Beppi to see in dim light within 120 feet as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light.
- TraitDwarfDwarven Resilience, granting Resistance to Poison damage and Advantage on saving throws to avoid or end the Poisoned condition.
- TraitDwarfDwarven Toughness, increasing Beppi's Hit Point maximum by 1 at 1st level and by 1 whenever he gains a level.
- ResearcherSage
When Beppi attempts to learn or recall a piece of lore, he often knows where and from whom the information can be obtained. The answer may lie in a library, monastery, grove, archive, or in the memories of an old traveler.

Appearance
Beppi is a short, broad-shouldered dwarf with a thick russet beard, weather-darkened skin, and hands permanently roughened by stone, bark, and kitchen work. His old chain mail hangs over a brown wool vest, its links polished only where they rub against his shoulders. He carries a round wooden shield and a large quarterstaff topped with a carved pine cone. His voice is warm, gravelly, and unexpectedly loud, especially when he becomes excited about trees, theology, or dinner. When rattled, he draws breath through his nose in three sharp snorts before speaking even louder.
Mannerisms
Beppi punctuates explanations by tapping the pine-cone head of his staff against the floor. He sniffs loudly before making an important point, adjusts his beard whenever he is lying, and raises his shield slightly when someone mentions a dish he dislikes. He laughs with his entire body, usually before finishing the joke.
Personality
Beppi is kind, earnest, scholarly, and almost impossible to ignore. He has the manners of a humble monastery worker and the volume of a tavern storyteller. He prefers helping quietly, but his explanations are never quiet. He treats strangers as future friends, animals as potential witnesses, and meals as opportunities for both gratitude and investigation.
Ideals
Stewardship. The world is not ours to conquer or consume without thought. Every living thing deserves room to endure, and every meal should honor the work and life that made it possible.
Bonds
A neglected mountain grove sheltered the refugees of Beppi's home settlement during a winter collapse. He swore that its ancient pine would never be forgotten, and he carries a cone from one of its fallen branches as a sacred reminder.
Flaws
Beppi mistakes being sincere for being persuasive. He talks over quieter people, drinks more beer than he admits, and becomes defensive when anyone suggests that a simple answer might be better than a scholarly one. He also has a habit of taking food personally. If someone wastes a meal, he will remember it for years.
Quirks
Background
Beppi was born beneath a mountain where the dwarf clans measured worth in carefully cut stone, reliable tools, and the quiet competence of people who did not need to announce themselves. He was very good at the first two and hopeless at the third. As a young dwarf, he became fascinated by the thin roots that forced their way through cracks in the deep roads, and by the mushrooms, mosses, and underground streams that survived where no sensible creature expected life. His questions eventually earned him work in a monastery archive, where he copied histories, catalogued medicinal plants, and loudly corrected anyone who confused a lichen with a fungus.
“He was very good at the first two and hopeless at the third.”
