Appearance
A slight, moonlit fairy with opalescent wings, a shock of silver-blue hair, and a foxlike grin that never quite leaves her face. She dresses in layered dark leather, practical for crawling through vents and rooftops, but fastens it with tiny brass charms and stolen ribbons. Her wings are dusted with faint gold specks that shimmer when she is excited or lying.
Mannerisms
She speaks softly when nervous, then suddenly chirps with unstoppable confidence once she has a plan. She lands on ledges instead of standing on floors whenever possible, and she listens with her head tilted as if every sentence might contain a hidden route. When pleased, she taps two fingers against her collarbone like knocking on a secret door.
Personality
Bright, suspicious, and fiercely curious, Lyris acts like every door is either an invitation or an insult. She is quick to laugh, quicker to notice a lie, and has an almost ceremonial respect for anyone who shares food without asking questions. She hates bullies, loves good gossip, and is most content when perched somewhere high enough to watch the world without being caught in it.
Ideals
Freedom. No king, archfey, or city watch should own the roads, the rooftops, or the right to decide who gets to belong. She believes every living thing deserves a way out of the cage someone else built.
Bonds
She owes her life to a one-eyed lamplighter who fed her through a bitter winter and never asked why a fairy child was sleeping in an abandoned chimney. She still leaves anonymous gifts of bright trinkets at his workshop window, and she will risk almost anything to keep his neighborhood safe.
Flaws
She cannot resist testing a lock, a pocket, or a secret, even when doing so will clearly make matters worse. If someone tells her a story in confidence, she treats it like a puzzle that must be solved immediately, and she often forgets that other people consider privacy sacred.
Quirks
Background
Lyris Thistlewhisper was born in a blackberry hollow just beyond a trade road, where the local fey courts treated roadsides, lanterns, and lost buttons as matters of state. She was supposed to learn etiquette, riddles, and the proper etiquette for stealing only one tart from a windowsill, but Lyris preferred the human world. She drifted into a border city after following the music of a street violinist, then stayed when she discovered that nobody in the alleys cared that she was tiny, only that she could slip through locked grates and bring back information no one else could get. She learned to survive on crumbs, rumors, and the occasional pocketed coin, and she found that the city, like the Feywild, rewarded wit far more than strength.
