Appearance
Kip has the wiry frame of a forest predator, covered in coarse, sandy-colored fur with darker charcoal patches around his eyes and ears. His ears are pointed and twitch constantly at the slightest sound. He wears studded leather stained deep green and brown, with a tattered cloak made of fox pelts. His golden eyes always seem to be searching for an exit or a pocket to pick, and he carries two curved scimitars at his hip with his lute strapped to his back.
Mannerisms
Kip moves with a constant, light-footed bouncing motion, never staying still on his heels. He sniffs the air before entering any room and tends to crouch on chairs rather than sitting in them.
Personality
Kip is a restless spirit who views life as a series of jokes that only he understands. He is rarely serious, even in combat, often treating a life or death struggle as a choreographed dance. He finds city customs hilarious and enjoys breaking them, though he is fiercely protective of those he considers his pack.
Ideals
Independence. The forest doesn't have laws, and neither should I. Freedom is the ability to walk where you want and laugh when you feel like it.
Bonds
I still send a portion of my stolen gold back to my younger sister in the Whispering Woods, though she has no idea where it comes from.
Flaws
I cannot resist a dare, especially if it involves something dangerous or socially unacceptable.
Quirks
Background
Raised in the sun-dappled shadows of the Whispering Woods, Kip was born to a nomadic shifter clan that prized stoic survival. Kip, however, found survival boring without a little flair. He discovered early on that his natural swiftness allowed him to toy with predators, turning a chase into a performance. This habit of turning danger into art led him to the College of Swords, where he refined his erratic movements into a rhythmic combat style. After accidentally 'borrowing' a sacred artifact from his clan's leader, he found it best to explore the wider world. He took on the persona of a forest diplomat, which is just a fancy way of saying he cons merchants out of their spare change while promising them protection from spirits that do not exist. He views the bustling towns of men as a bigger forest with more gullible prey, but his heart remains tied to the grey bark and rustling leaves of his home.
“Kip, however, found survival boring without a little flair.”
