Appearance
Alluin Perhorn is a lean, battle-scarred elf with pale gold skin, sharp green eyes, and long silver-black hair usually tied back with a plain leather cord. He wears polished chain mail beneath a weathered soldier's cloak, with a disciplined posture that never quite relaxes. A rank insignia hangs at his belt beside a well-kept longsword and a dented shield marked by old campaign scratches.
Mannerisms
He stands at attention when introducing himself, even in taverns. He counts exits unconsciously, straightens crooked objects on tables, and taps two fingers against his sword hilt when thinking. Before sleep, he inspects his gear in the same exact order every night.
Personality
Alluin is calm, clipped, and intensely observant. He speaks with the steady precision of someone who believes words should be useful before they are beautiful. Beneath the severity is a dry, almost hidden loyalty, and once he accepts someone as his comrade, he becomes patient, protective, and impossible to shake.
Ideals
Duty. A soldier's life has value because it protects others from chaos. Order must be maintained, but not at the cost of abandoning the innocent. True discipline means doing the hard thing when no applause follows.
Bonds
He keeps the dog tags of three fallen comrades wrapped in oilcloth inside his pack, and he will cross any distance to honor a debt to their names. He is also bound to the memory of the unit's standard, and treats any banner he serves under with near-religious seriousness.
Flaws
He trusts procedure more than people, and can become rigid when others improvise. He struggles to forgive desertion, disorder, or what he sees as needless sentimentality. If given a clear chain of command, he follows it, even when his instincts tell him the order is morally ugly.
Quirks
Background
Alluin Perhorn was raised among elven households that prized patience, grace, and long memory, but he found his calling in the strict certainty of the drill yard. Where other elves studied poetry or star charts, he studied formations, shield walls, and the exact angle of a sword arm under pressure. His instructors learned quickly that he was not the quickest to laugh, but he was among the quickest to notice weak points in a plan, a squad, or a lie. He served in a border company that spent more time holding roads and forts than winning glory. That suited him. Alluin became the sort of soldier who always knew the count of rations, the condition of the horses, and which sentry had started to drift in their watch. A campaign gone wrong left his unit scattered and its commander dead, and Alluin walked away with the bitter conviction that discipline is not the same thing as obedience. Now he travels as a steady blade-for-hire and a quiet adjudicator of messy disputes, trying to rebuild order wherever panic or pride has broken it. He keeps one promise above all others, never abandon the people who still stand in formation beside him.
