Hugo Friedberg spent decades as a sergeant in the Imperial infantry, surviving countless sieges and bloody field battles. When he finally retired and returned to his home of Oakhaven, he was disgusted by the laziness and corruption of the local constabulary. He took it upon himself to reform the guard, replacing lethargy with strict military discipline. Under his leadership, the town became safer than ever before, but his rigid methods have made him as many enemies as friends. He now serves as the Captain of the Guard, protecting the town against threats that the civilian population can hardly imagine. He considers his men his family and the town walls his responsibility.
