Appearance
Long Blonde hair, tan complexion that other often say is glowing. He has a muscular build from training years with his local army then years training on his own. His body almost always covered in armor and a cloak. He almost never parts with his sword as it is his means of defense and also his symbol of faith.
Mannerisms
Astrum pauses and inhales before answering difficult questions. He checks the position of his holy symbol whenever someone mentions a lost settlement, silently counts exits when entering a room, and performs a slow shoulder-and-wrist exercise from his army days whenever he is forced to wait.
Personality
Astrum is disciplined, observant, and quietly compassionate. He speaks plainly and rarely wastes words, but he remembers the names of the wounded, the dead, and the people others overlook. He is patient with fear, grief, and honest mistakes. He has almost no patience for cruelty disguised as pragmatism.
Ideals
Mercy belongs to the innocent. For those who knowingly feed corruption, hesitation is another form of surrender. I will end the threat before it can take another village.
Bonds
The ruins of his village are sacred ground to him. He carries a small iron key recovered from the ashes and swears that the evil responsible will never again be allowed to hide behind distance, politics, or convenient uncertainty.
Flaws
Astrum is too quick to declare an enemy irredeemable, especially when the enemy reminds him of the force that destroyed his village. He distrusts institutions, commanders, and councils so deeply that he may sabotage a workable plan rather than submit to a delay he considers dangerous.
Quirks
Background
Even before his oath, Astrum was surrounded by small impossibilities. Prayers spoken beside him left the air strangely warm, wounds sometimes closed more quickly in his presence, and frightened soldiers found their hands steadier when he stood nearby. He was raised in a remote village and entered the regional army as soon as he reached adulthood, believing that service was the clearest way to protect ordinary people from the great evil spreading across the land. During a distant campaign, time froze around him. A god of the Upper Planes appeared and showed him a vision of his home in ruins, its buildings burning and the people he loved lying dead in the streets. Astrum deserted his unit and raced home, convinced that his warning could still save them. Instead, he found the village destroyed exactly as he had seen it.
“Astrum deserted his unit and raced home, convinced that his warning could still save them.”
