Appearance
A lean, copper-red tiefling with swept-back black horns, amber eyes, and dark russet skin marked by faint freckles across his nose and cheeks. His long tail is wrapped with thin brass prayer rings. He wears polished chain mail beneath an expensive but travel-worn blue tabard, carrying a silver holy symbol at his throat and a mace whose head is shaped like a rising sun.
Mannerisms
Mbarik straightens his cuffs before delivering a difficult truth, taps his holy symbol three times when entering a room, and addresses servants and nobles with exactly the same formal courtesy.
Personality
Elegant, observant, and warmly irreverent. Mbarik remembers the names of cooks, stable hands, guards, and street vendors, but forgets the titles of people who insist too loudly on being respected. He enjoys fine music and good tailoring, yet becomes visibly uncomfortable when luxury is treated as proof of moral superiority.
Ideals
Mercy. A person’s worth is proven by what they do for those who cannot repay them, not by bloodline, title, or the name of their god.
Bonds
The free clinic in the river district was founded with my family’s money, and I will protect its patients and staff even if it means standing against my own house.
Flaws
I am quick to defy authority, even when patience would accomplish more. I also spend money meant for my own needs whenever I see someone suffering.

Background
Mbarik Khashr was born into a minor tiefling noble house whose wealth came from river tolls, caravan charters, and old political favors. His family taught him to speak softly, dress impeccably, and treat every conversation as a negotiation. They also taught him that his horns and bloodline were liabilities to be managed rather than parts of himself to be honored. Mbarik never accepted that lesson. As a young man, he began slipping away from courtly dinners to tend the sick in the servants’ quarters and the crowded alleys beyond the family estate. His faith began with a dying dockworker who asked not for gold or revenge, but for someone to remember his children. Mbarik found that prayer was most powerful when followed by action. He entered the clergy of a benevolent sun and healing deity, using his family’s connections to open clinics, expose corrupt officials, and protect travelers from predatory toll collectors. His public defiance eventually cost him his inheritance, though his mother secretly left him the family signet ring. Now he travels as a wandering priest, noble by birth but committed to the poor, carrying himself like a courtier while speaking with the bluntness of a street physician.
