When making an Intelligence or Wisdom check related to forest terrain, her proficiency bonus is doubled if she is proficient in the relevant skill. While traveling for an hour or more in forest terrain, she gains benefits including difficult terrain not slowing the group, the group not becoming lost except by magical means, remaining alert to danger while engaged in other activities, moving stealthily at a normal pace when alone, finding twice as much food, and tracking other creatures while learning their exact number, sizes, and how long ago they passed.

Appearance
Cerys Pendra is a striking wood elf with glossy black hair worn in a high, slightly unruly braid, vivid green eyes, warm bronze skin, and expressive, pointed ears that constantly betray her mood. She has a strong, curving figure shaped by years of archery, travel, and outdoor work. Her leather armor is carefully fitted for mobility, with bright green thread repairs and small personal charms sewn into the seams. Her longbow is old elven craftsmanship, polished smooth from years of use, while a pair of practical shortswords hang at her hips.
Mannerisms
Cerys leans forward when listening, gestures with whatever object is in her hand, and gives a tiny celebratory fist pump whenever a plan works. She frequently whispers encouragement to her bow before taking a difficult shot.
Personality
Bubbly, excitable, and relentlessly curious, Cerys speaks to strangers as though they are friends she has not seen in years. She is quick to laugh, quicker to volunteer, and genuinely thrilled by new roads, unusual food, interesting weapons, and anyone with a good story. Beneath her bright enthusiasm is a sharp observer who notices tracks, hidden exits, and changes in the wind almost instantly.
Ideals
Purpose is not something granted by a commander or inherited from an ancestor. It is something built by choosing to help, especially when no one is watching.
Bonds
She carries her missing commander’s cracked green arrowhead and intends to discover whether the commander survived. She also feels responsible for every young archer who served under her, even those who insist they can take care of themselves.
Flaws
Cerys treats every stranger as a potential friend and every quiet moment as a personal challenge to fill with noise. She hates admitting that she is frightened or directionless, so she turns uncertainty into jokes, reckless optimism, or an impulsive promise she may not be able to keep.
Quirks
Background
Cerys Pendra served as an archer along the western green marches, where elven patrols watched for raiders, poachers, and creatures driven out of the deep woods. She was an excellent shot, but a terrible soldier in every other respect. Cerys sang during silent watches, challenged officers to races, and once gave an entire patrol matching nicknames based on woodland birds. Her superiors considered her undisciplined. Her fellow archers considered her impossible not to love. When a border skirmish ended with her unit scattered and its commander missing, Cerys chose not to return to formal service. She took her bow, followed the commander’s trail to safety, and then realized she no longer knew what she was supposed to do next.
