Appearance
Yekta is a lean half-elf with warm brown skin, close-cropped black curls, and a narrow face made expressive by quick, attentive eyes. She wears a carefully mended leather jerkin beneath a travel-stained blue coat, with a lute case slung high across her back. She stands lightly on the balls of her feet, often shifting her weight from side to side as though keeping time to music only she can hear.
Mannerisms
She taps a thumb against her index finger in little patterns while listening, then goes abruptly still when she has made up her mind.
Personality
Curious and sociable, Yekta treats a conversation like a tune: she listens for its rhythm before deciding when to join in. She is generous with encouragement, especially toward people who think they have nothing worth offering.
Ideals
A craft, a song, or a promise is only worth something when it serves living people. Tradition deserves respect, not blind obedience.
Bonds
She keeps a small bronze tuning slug from her parents' foundry and intends to find a way to reopen it without making her family dependent on anyone's charity.
Flaws
She can turn any disagreement into a performance, and sometimes keeps talking after the other person has stopped listening. She also hides financial trouble until it becomes impossible to ignore.
Quirks
Background
Yekta grew up around the clang and measured ringing of Bellfounders' Row, where her human mother, Mina, kept accounts for a small foundry and her elven father, Doru, tuned the finished bells by ear. She learned that every casting had a voice, and that a careful listener could hear a flaw before anyone saw it. When the foundry fell on hard times, Yekta took her lute to inns and market squares, turning the rhythms of the workshop into songs that brought in customers and distracted creditors.
