Appearance
Jax is a young human man in his early twenties with a lean, wiry build shaped by recent military training and the lingering softness of youth. His pale skin bears a faint scar across one set of knuckles and another along his jawline. He has sharp features, high cheekbones, a straight nose, and dark, intelligent brown eyes that remain alert even when his expression is neutral. His dark brown hair has grown out from its former military cut, falling just past his ears in a tousled mess. Light stubble shadows his jaw. In casual settings, he wears a faded black band T-shirt, a worn gray hoodie, dark slim-fit jeans, and scuffed black combat boots. In training or combat, he wears a fitted black tactical uniform, a harness for weapons and tools, maintained combat boots, chain mail, and a practical military cloak.
Mannerisms
Jax keeps his back to walls whenever possible, rolls his shoulders before a fight, and checks exits without appearing to do so. When tense, he rubs the scar across his knuckles and makes dry comments about his odds of survival.
Personality
Jax is observant, ambitious, and quick-witted, with a dry, self-deprecating humor that surfaces whenever tension becomes unbearable. He is loyal once someone proves dependable, but he distrusts blind devotion and tests promises against actions. He wants to be seen as capable, yet he is painfully aware of how easily one mistake could send him back to the bottom.
Ideals
Competence. People deserve protection from those who exploit them, but protection means little without the strength and skill to enforce it.
Bonds
I owe my survival to the members of my old Civil Defense squad, and I will not abandon them even when the chain of command does.
Flaws
I assume every offer has a hidden price, and I can become cold or manipulative when I feel powerless.
Quirks
Background
Jax grew up on the fringes of Atrix Isle's corporate zones, where the polished towers cast long shadows over warehouses, maintenance yards, and overcrowded worker housing. His family never had enough money to buy safety, so Jax learned to make himself useful. He repaired loading systems, carried equipment through industrial compounds, and took whatever work kept food on the table. He quickly discovered that every workplace had its own chain of command and that survival depended on noticing who actually held power, not merely who wore the right badge. His intelligence made him valuable, but his refusal to stay invisible made him a target for people who preferred obedient labor. He joined the Atrix Isle Civil Defense Corps because it offered structure, training, and a chance to climb without pretending the world was fair. Jax excelled with weapons and tactical analysis, especially when he could study a situation long enough to find the weakness no one else had noticed. During an experimental security exercise, he was exposed to unstable arcane technology. The incident left him with a strange affinity for eldritch force, allowing him to shape spells through the same disciplined focus he used to control a blade. He now serves as a soldier and eldritch knight, navigating a world of corporate compounds, urban battlefields, and dangerous alliances. Jax wants authority over his own life, but he has not yet decided whether power is something to use responsibly or simply something to seize before someone else takes it from him.
