Appearance
Tavish is a pale, lean but powerfully built human man with almost colorless skin, pale blonde hair, and striking pink eyes. His albinism makes him intensely sensitive to sunlight, so he keeps his face beneath the deep hood of a weathered gray-green cloak except at dusk, night, or beneath heavy forest cover. Scale mail lies beneath the cloak, dulled to avoid reflecting light, and a heavy crossbow rests across his back beside a quiver of thick bolts. He carries a long ash spear in one hand and moves with the watchful stillness of a hunting animal.
Mannerisms
Tavish speaks quietly and rarely wastes words. He pauses before entering any room, studies exits and windows, and automatically positions himself where a wall is at his back. When thinking, he rubs the leather wrapping around his spear haft. In conversation he often looks slightly aside rather than directly at another person's face, partly from shyness and partly to shield his sensitive eyes.
Personality
Tavish is a confident hunter and disciplined soldier who becomes unexpectedly shy around friendly strangers. He is most comfortable at the edge of camp, beneath trees, with a weapon within reach and the sounds of the wild around him. He observes everything, speaks only when he believes his words matter, and shows affection through practical acts such as repairing gear, sharing food, or taking the worst watch.
Ideals
Protection. Civilization is worth defending only when it remembers that the wild is alive. The strong should stand between danger and those who cannot face it alone.
Bonds
The Grodek homestead still stands at the edge of the wild, protected by a family watch-post and a ring of old boundary stones. Tavish will risk anything to defend his family and the other isolated settlers who depend on those trails. He also carries a private oath to recover his father's lost field journal, which contains maps of a hidden route through dangerous country.
Flaws
Tavish trusts wilderness instinct more readily than human conversation. He can appear cold, evasive, or judgmental when he is merely uncomfortable. He is also dangerously stubborn about abandoning people in hostile country, even when retreat is clearly the wiser choice. Bright sunlight leaves him irritable, exhausted, and vulnerable, but he hates admitting that his condition limits him.

Background
Tavish Grodek was born to a pioneering family that pushed beyond the settled roads and built a rough homestead where the last farms gave way to ancient woodland. His parents taught him to read weather in the clouds, spoor in wet earth, and danger in the silence between birdsong. Tavish loved the frontier more than he loved the settlement itself. He spent long days roaming alone, hunting for the family table and mapping trails that no surveyor had ever marked. The forest did not judge his pale skin or pink eyes. It simply demanded patience, attention, and respect.
