Appearance
Yukihime is a lean, long-limbed white-furred Tabaxi with silver-gray markings along her ears, forearms, and tail. Her pale blue eyes are sharp and watchful, often fixed on distant movement no one else has noticed. She wears weathered leather armor beneath a layered arctic cloak, with soft wrappings around her hands that protect the callused pads of her fingers without restricting their dexterity. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice her unusual stillness. She can remain motionless for long stretches, then move with sudden, fluid precision. Her tail constantly gives away her mood, flicking sharply whenever she hears something she distrusts.
Mannerisms
Yukihime pauses before entering any room and silently counts its exits. She speaks in a low, measured voice, but her ears and tail react before her expression does. When anxious, she rubs the pads of her fingers together as though testing invisible frost.
Personality
Yukihime is observant, guarded, and fiercely self-reliant. She notices footprints, changes in breathing, and the small habits people reveal when they lie. She has a dry sense of humor that appears at the worst possible moments, usually when fear would otherwise make her silent. Though she claims to trust no one, she instinctively protects the lost, the hunted, and anyone who reminds her of the children of the Rhoynar.
Ideals
Freedom. No clan, ruler, prophecy, or ghost will ever decide where I go or what I become. I will choose my own path, even when the path leads into darkness.
Bonds
The Rhoynar clan is my family, my responsibility, and the reason I refuse to die. I will uncover what killed them, even if the truth proves that my clan was not as innocent as I believed.
Flaws
I assume every unexplained kindness hides a price, and I would rather vanish into danger than admit that I need help. When the black mark or the ghosts appear, I become reckless and may abandon a sensible plan to pursue them.
Quirks
Background
Yukihime Rhoynar was raised among the frozen valleys and wind-carved ridges of the Rhoynar clan, a Tabaxi people who measured adulthood in endurance, awareness, and the ability to return home through a storm. Her mother was next in line to lead the clan, her uncle was its current leader, and her father was one of its strongest warriors. Because of her bloodline and her unusual promise as a runner and hunter, Yukihime was sent into the arctic at ten years old as part of an ancient clan trial. She was expected to survive alone for a week, follow hidden markers, hunt or trap her food, and return without aid. She came back on the seventh day to find the clan settlement silent. Every member of the Rhoynar clan had been slaughtered, each body marked with the same black, sickly stain. There were no tracks she could follow, no survivors to question, and no enemy she could name. The memory turned her into a wanderer, scout, and thief of secrets. She learned to move quietly through settlements, sleep lightly in the wilderness, and take only what she needed to survive. Now she carries fragments of her clan in a small bundle of tokens and follows rumors of the black mark wherever they lead. She is haunted by what she believes are the ghosts of her family, but she fears those apparitions may not be spirits at all. They may be the same sinister force that destroyed the Rhoynar, watching through the dead.
