When As an action, when a creature within 60 feet can hear him
Mubarak delivers an insult disguised as a musical phrase. One creature within 60 feet that can hear him must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 1d4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on its next attack roll before the end of its next turn.
- Bardic Inspiration (d6)Level 1
Mubarak can use a musical instrument or his voice to inspire one creature within 60 feet that can hear him. Until the next long rest, the creature can add a d6 to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. He can use this feature a number of times equal to his Charisma modifier, currently 6, regaining all uses after a long rest.

Appearance
Mubarak is a very thin half-elf man with long limbs, an open, guileless face, and an astonishingly confident smile. His leather armor is several sizes too large, cinched tightly with colorful cloth strips, while his once-fine purple coat has been carefully patched at the elbows. He keeps his lute polished to an almost absurd degree. Within a minute of meeting him, people notice that his eyes constantly drift toward whoever seems most important in the room, though he often mistakes servants, statues, or decorative suits of armor for influential nobles.
Mannerisms
He announces ordinary actions as though they are historic victories, bows to empty corners after finishing a sentence, and taps his lute twice before saying anything he considers important. When confused, he nods vigorously and raises his voice.
Personality
Mubarak is exuberant, affectionate, and spectacularly certain of himself. He treats every stranger as a future friend and every misunderstanding as evidence that he is operating on a higher level. He has the emotional instincts of a friendly dog, the confidence of a conquering prince, and the practical intelligence of a dropped spoon.
Ideals
Confidence. The world belongs to the person who speaks as though it already agrees with him. If Mubarak can make people smile, then perhaps even his mistakes can become part of a better story.
Bonds
Saffiya, the charlatan who taught him everything, disappeared after their last scheme. Mubarak is determined to find her and repay her by becoming famous enough that everyone will know her name.
Flaws
He is almost completely incapable of recognizing when he is being deceived, threatened, or insulted. Mubarak confidently repeats information he has misunderstood, mistakes obvious danger for an invitation, and becomes offended only when people fail to admire his explanation.

Background
Mubarak ibn Naji grew up between an elven trading quarter and a crowded human port district, where his mixed heritage made him useful as a messenger, performer, and occasional distraction. He was never strong enough to haul crates, observant enough to spot a crooked card, or clever enough to understand most of the schemes he was hired to support. Yet Mubarak possessed a voice that made every foolish statement sound like a revelation. Shopkeepers forgave broken merchandise after hearing his compliments, guards forgot why they had stopped him, and wealthy travelers paid him simply because they enjoyed being addressed as if they were legendary heroes. An older charlatan named Saffiya recognized that Mubarak's spectacular lack of sense could be turned into a kind of magic. She taught him disguises, forged papers, theatrical patter, and the central rule of deception, never pause long enough for anyone to ask whether what you said made sense. Mubarak became the face of their small confidence troupe, playing fake nobles, wandering prophets, and eccentric musicians. Their partnership ended when Mubarak accidentally exposed a corrupt magistrate by loudly congratulating him for crimes that were supposed to remain secret. Now Mubarak travels as a bard, convinced that destiny has chosen him for greatness. In truth, he is usually one misunderstood instruction away from disaster, but his warmth, confidence, and impossible charm keep opening doors.
