Luxo is a Half-Elf with startlingly cat-like golden eyes and sharp, feline features that led the elves to call him Schattenpfote. He wears tattered, ink-stained scholar's robes over dark leather armor. Over the top half of his face sits a porcelain elven mask with glowing faint runes, which he never removes in public.

Luxo is quiet and deeply suspicious of those in power. He often speaks in low whispers, occasionally pausing as if listening to something no one else can hear. He is intensely focused when reading but becomes jittery and defensive in social crowds.

Luxo twin Paw was raised as an orphan in an elven mage-city. Despite his elven blood, his unusual feline traits made him an outcast, treated by the local nobility as little more than an exotic pet or a 'clever cat' that could clean libraries. He spent his youth in the grand archives, mocked by students and relegated to the tasks they felt were beneath them. He grew to despise their arrogance and the magic that served as their social pedestal. While scrubbing floors in the restricted section, he found the Mask of the Forgotten Magi, an artifact containing the consciousness of a shunned sorcerer. The mask offered him the respect he craved, provided he was willing to pay the price. After being humiliated once too often by a cruel elven initiate, Luxo used the mask's power to claim a dark vengeance. The ritual bound the artifact to his soul, transforming the quiet archive worker into a conduit for shadow. Now, he travels to prove that he is a master of the very forces that once ignored him, while the mask's whispers grow louder each day, demanding he feed its hunger for influence.
