Appearance
Sesha Mirembe is a slender aasimar woman with warm brown skin, thoughtful gray-violet eyes, and thick black hair usually braided with small silver beads. Her celestial heritage shows in the faint pearlescent sheen of her skin and the soft radiance that gathers around her hands when she invokes divine power. She dresses in practical but finely made traveling clothes beneath a deep blue mantle, remnants of her noble upbringing carefully altered for the road. Her fingertips are roughened by years of cooking, mending, and instrument care, while a faint flour mark or thread loop is often visible on one sleeve. Within moments of meeting her, people notice that she repeatedly checks the small silver clasp at her throat, a habit developed while waiting for decisions about her unwanted betrothal.
Mannerisms
Sesha speaks with polished courtly diction until someone mistreats a servant or refugee, at which point her voice becomes very calm and precise. She touches the silver clasp at her throat when anxious, counts quietly under her breath before making a difficult decision, and hums fragments of kitchen songs while preparing spells.
Personality
Sesha is observant, composed, and unfailingly courteous to people who work with their hands. She has a dry sense of humor and a gift for making arrogant people reveal themselves. Beneath her poise is a fierce hunger for belonging, though she is more comfortable offering protection than accepting it. She remembers small kindnesses for years and remembers insults even longer.
Ideals
Dignity. A person's worth is not determined by birth, wealth, beauty, or usefulness. Those who are overlooked deserve someone who notices them.
Bonds
The household servants and survivors who helped me escape are my true family. I will protect them, reunite them when possible, and never again allow the powerful to decide that ordinary lives are acceptable losses.
Flaws
I assume affection is a transaction and kindness is temporary, so I sometimes test people until they grow tired of proving me wrong. I am also capable of being quietly vindictive toward anyone who humiliates servants, refugees, or children.

Background
Sesha Mirembe was the youngest of twelve children in one of the oldest households of a sprawling city. Her family treated her as an embarrassment rather than a daughter, overlooking her at meals, forgetting her birthdays, and disguising cruelty as wit. The household staff became her true family. She learned recipes from the cooks, mending from the laundresses, and the patient disciplines of reading, history, and etiquette from tutors who had quietly witnessed the way she was treated. Among the staff children she was not a misfit or a disappointment. She was simply Sesha, clever, curious, and always ready with a song or a story. Her parents arranged her marriage to a much older nobleman known for cruelty, a widower whose previous wives had died under grim and suspicious circumstances. Before the wedding could take place, his carriage was attacked by bandits, and he later died from his wounds. While her parents scrambled to find another match, dragons descended upon the city. Her family fled without her, leaving Sesha to escape with household servants and other survivors. A traveling cleric named Sister Nalia led them to safety, then turned back toward the burning city to search for those still trapped within. Sesha followed her back. During the rescue, a celestial light answered Sesha's desperate prayer, revealing the divine spark in her blood and giving her the courage to stand beside Nalia. Since then, Sesha has traveled as a bard, healer, negotiator, and keeper of difficult truths. She uses the education meant to make her a decorative noblewoman to protect people who are ignored, discarded, or treated as expendable.
