Appearance
Theodore is a diminutive gnome with sun-touched skin and a shock of messy white hair that defies gravity. He wears a pair of oversized, brass-rimmed spectacles that often slide down his nose. His robes are a deep teal, slightly frayed at the edges, and always have at least one ink stain somewhere on the sleeves. He carries a large leather backpack stuffed with scrolls and a staff topped with a crystal that hums with a faint, blue light.
Mannerisms
He constantly adjusts his spectacles with his index finger and tends to trail off into a hum when he is thinking deeply.
Personality
Extremely curious and soft-spoken, Theodore views the world through the lens of a perpetual student. He is more likely to ask a monster about its habitat than to strike it. He is kind-hearted and patient, though he can be incredibly stubborn when it comes to historical accuracy or the proper pronunciation of arcane incantations.
Ideals
Knowledge. The collection and preservation of truth is the most noble pursuit any being can undertake.
Bonds
The Pebblenose Archives are my home, and I will do anything to ensure their safety and expansion.
Flaws
I am prone to ignoring immediate danger if I spot a rare book or a historical artifact that requires my attention.

Background
Theodore spent over a century tucked away in the Great Archives of the Pebblenose clan, serving as a junior cataloger. While most of his kin focused on the mechanics of clockwork, Theodore found beauty in the mathematics of the arcane. He spent his nights translating ancient texts on evocation, teaching himself to manifest energy through precise somatic movements. He was a creature of comfort and silence until he discovered a missing chapter in a historical record that hinted at a lost library in the surface world. Leaving his home was the most difficult decision of his life, but his thirst for knowledge outweighed his fear of the unknown. He now travels with his spellbook in hand, recording every new phenomenon he encounters. He sees himself not as a powerful mage, but as a wandering librarian seeking to reconnect the scattered fragments of history. Every spell he casts is, to him, a logical proof of the universe's inherent order.
