Appearance
Nova is a human woman in her late twenties with a lean, athletic build shaped by years of covert operations, military discipline, and survival training. Her fair skin bears a few faint scars, including one across her collarbone and another along her forearm. She has sharp features, high cheekbones, a straight nose, and pale blue eyes with a calm, analytical intensity. Her blonde hair is cut in a neat, chin-length asymmetrical bob. In casual settings, she wears a fitted black tank top, dark gray cargo pants, and worn but well-maintained black leather boots. In the field, she wears a matte black sound-dampening tactical bodysuit beneath a charcoal modular vest, dexterous gloves, reinforced boots, and concealed modern weapons. She operates in a modern training facility with matte black floors, controlled lighting, and surveillance equipment.
Mannerisms
Nova speaks in short, precise sentences and often pauses before answering, as if checking every word for tactical value. She habitually sits with her back to a wall, scans every room upon entering, and checks exits without appearing to look. When concentrating, she taps one finger twice against her wrist.
Personality
Nova is quiet, disciplined, and relentlessly observant. She values competence above comfort and prefers actions that produce measurable results. She rarely raises her voice, but her stillness can be more intimidating than anger. Beneath her controlled exterior is a fiercely protective woman who remembers every person abandoned by the institutions that trained her.
Ideals
Loyalty is proven through action, not promises. Nova believes power should be used to protect those who cannot protect themselves, even if the people in power call that protection treason.
Bonds
She carries a battered identification tag belonging to the only fellow operative who refused to abandon her at the black site. Nova intends to expose the officials who erased her unit and rescue anyone still trapped in the program that created her.
Flaws
Nova assumes every kindness has a hidden price. She is slow to trust, quicker to disappear than explain herself, and often chooses the efficient solution even when compassion would be better. She has difficulty accepting help and will risk herself recklessly rather than owe someone a debt.
Quirks
Background
Nova was born in a city where military service was one of the few reliable paths out of poverty. Her sharp mind, physical discipline, and uncanny awareness made her an exceptional recruit, first as a reconnaissance soldier and later as an operative assigned to deniable missions. She learned to move through hostile streets without being noticed, read terrain as easily as a map, and survive with minimal equipment. Her career ended when a deep-cover operation collapsed and she was captured by an intelligence faction that wanted the identities of her handlers and informants. Nova spent six months in a black site, subjected to isolation, deprivation, and brutal interrogation. She survived by treating every moment as a problem to be solved. When she escaped, she discovered that the agency she had served had declared her dead and erased her identity. Rather than return to a life built on disposable loyalties, she joined the Stalker program, where her talents were refined into the perfect union of ranger fieldcraft and rogue infiltration. As a Gloom Stalker, she controls the darkness and strikes before an enemy understands there is danger. As a Scout, she remains mobile, observant, and impossible to corner. Nova now accepts contracts that protect people abandoned by governments and agencies, though she never forgets that every system eventually decides who is expendable.
