Appearance
Gorak is an orc man standing just over six feet tall, built from solid muscle and bone. His muted, earthy green skin is marked by old scars from countless battles and narrow escapes. He has a broad face, square jaw, prominent tusks, a heavy brow, deep amber eyes, a jagged scar across his nose, and another along his collarbone. His hair is cropped close to his skull in a practical military buzz cut. In the modern training area, he wears a fitted dark tactical shirt beneath a matte black vest, reinforced cargo pants, heavy combat boots, tactical gloves, and a narrow silver ring on his right hand. His modern firearm is carried with the discipline of a veteran soldier, and his entire posture remains relaxed, alert, and ready.
Mannerisms
Gorak speaks in short, measured sentences and rarely repeats himself. He scans exits whenever he enters a room, checks the condition of every weapon within reach, and stands with his back to a wall whenever possible. When angry, he becomes quieter rather than louder. Before a dangerous operation, he taps the silver ring twice against his knuckle and counts the team members under his breath.
Personality
Blunt, direct, and intensely grounded in physical reality, Gorak respects competence above charm and action above promises. He speaks little, but his resonant, measured voice carries authority when he does. Slow to trust, he becomes immovable once loyalty is earned. He dislikes performative cruelty and empty boasting, seeing both as weaknesses disguised as strength.
Ideals
Purpose. Strength is meaningless without something worth protecting. Gorak will endure any hardship, accept any wound, and cross any battlefield if it keeps his people alive.
Bonds
The Stalker unit is Gorak's family, and he will not abandon a teammate while there is still a path to extraction. He keeps the narrow silver ring as a reminder of the soldiers who died buying him time to escape Nyx.
Flaws
Gorak assumes that every promise has a hidden cost and that every silence conceals a threat. He is slow to forgive betrayal, quicker to choose violence than negotiation, and privately terrified that the fractured instincts left by Nyx are not warnings at all, but commands waiting to awaken.
Quirks
Background
Gorak was raised among an orc warband that valued endurance, discipline, and the practical truth of survival. He learned early that strength alone was not enough. A warrior had to know when to advance, when to hold position, and when to leave the dead behind. As a young soldier, he became a tracker and forward scout, moving ahead of the main force through ruined cities, forests, and hostile territory. His sharp eyes and refusal to panic earned him a place in the Iron Fist mercenary group, where he became known for relentless efficiency and an uncanny ability to turn a losing battle into a survivable one. Years of combat left Gorak scarred but highly capable. His service in the Iron Fist eventually brought him into conflict with Nyx, whose capture and psychic assault fractured Gorak's sense of self while leaving him unusually sensitive to unseen mental pressure. He survived by trusting instinct, discipline, and the faint warnings that seemed to arrive before danger struck. Afterward, he joined the Stalker program, serving as a Hunter Ranger and combat tracker in a modern training facility with matte black floors, live-fire drills, and simulated hostile environments. Gorak does not fight for glory. He fights because purpose is the one thing war never managed to take from him, and because the Stalker unit is the closest thing to family he has left.
“He learned early that strength alone was not enough.”
