Appearance
A slender half-elf with warm bronze skin, shoulder-length black hair streaked with silver, and mismatched eyes, one emerald green and one hazel brown. Fine elven features soften a human expressiveness, while faint ink stains mark the fingers of both hands. They wear layered blue and cream robes beneath a weathered traveling cloak, with a polished silver holy symbol at the throat and a leather-bound spellbook secured at the hip.
Mannerisms
Elaris pauses before answering ordinary questions, as though consulting an unseen list of possible futures. They straighten crooked books, trace small circles over their holy symbol when nervous, and quietly whisper the first few words of a prayer before casting a spell.
Personality
Thoughtful, observant, and gently inquisitive, Elaris treats every stranger as a potential source of a forgotten story. They are compassionate toward the frightened and patient with the ignorant, but become intense and argumentative when someone dismisses knowledge as useless. Elaris prefers careful plans, yet their prophetic visions sometimes tempt them into sudden, dramatic action.
Ideals
Knowledge. Truth is sacred, and no secret should remain buried forever, though wisdom must guide the hand that uncovers it.
Bonds
I will protect my temple and recover every sacred text stolen from its archives. The damaged spellbook that awakened my prophetic gift contains a warning I must decipher before the foretold disaster arrives.
Flaws
I am convinced that every coincidence hides a meaningful pattern, and I can become reckless when trying to prove a prophecy true. I also conceal uncertainty behind scholarly confidence, even when I am completely out of my depth.

Background
Elaris Venn was raised between two worlds, welcomed by neither completely. Their human mother served as a keeper of sacred records at a small temple, while their elven father was a wandering scholar who visited only when curiosity drew him back. From childhood, Elaris learned that faith and knowledge were not opposing forces. Both were attempts to understand the hidden shape of the world. They became an acolyte of Oghma, god of knowledge, and spent years copying illuminated prayers, cataloging relics, and listening to pilgrims confess secrets they believed no one else could understand. Their life changed when a damaged spellbook arrived at the temple inside the belongings of a murdered mage. Several pages contained prophecies that appeared to describe disasters before they happened. Elaris began studying the book in secret, discovering that magic could reveal possibilities rather than merely record history. Their first visions came during a midnight prayer, showing the temple burning beneath a sky full of falling stars. The vision did not reveal who would cause the destruction, only that Elaris would one day have the chance to prevent it. Now they travel as a wizard and wandering servant of knowledge, seeking lost texts, investigating supernatural omens, and trying to distinguish genuine prophecy from the fears of an overactive imagination.
