Appearance
Theren is an uncommonly slender wood elf, possessing a fragile grace that borders on sickly. His skin is the color of birch bark and his eyes are a piercing, luminous green. He wears heavy chain mail etched with intricate ivy leaf patterns, which seems almost too heavy for his slight frame. He often leans on a tall shield emblazoned with a silver leaf.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of closing his eyes and tilting his head toward the sun whenever he steps into a clearing. He tends to touch the bark of every tree he passes as if in greeting.
Personality
Theren is quiet and thoughtful, possessing a wisdom that belies his youthful elven years. He speaks with a soft, melodic voice and rarely raises it, even in the heat of battle. He treats every living creature, from the smallest beetle to the largest bear, with profound respect and patience.
Ideals
Nature. The natural world is more important than all the constructs of civilization. We must preserve the light of the world.
Bonds
I will protect the sacred grove where I first felt the light of the Ancients with my life.
Flaws
I am physically weak and often overestimate my own endurance. I have a hard time trusting anyone who sees nature as merely a resource.

Background
Born in the Shimmering Vale, Theren was never as robust as the other wood elf children. His lungs were weak and his frame was frail. While others practiced archery and bladework, Theren spent his time listening to the whispers of the ancient oaks, discovering a profound connection to the spirits that dwelled within the bark and leaf. This connection granted him insight that the strongest warriors lacked. When a fungal blight threatened to consume the heart of his village, the elder warriors were stumped. Theren, guided by a vision of a silver leaf, found the source of the rot in a forgotten cave. Through pure conviction and a plea to the Ancients, he purged the darkness. The villagers hailed him as a hero, though he nearly collapsed from the effort of the magical strain. Realizing that his purpose lay in shielding the light from the encroaching shadow, he took the Oath of the Ancients. He travels the world now, a fragile knight with a heart of tempered steel, proving that the strength of the forest lies not in the thickness of the trunk, but in the resilience of the soul.
