Features
10 featuresAction
- Divine SenseLevel 1
As an action, Graves can open her awareness to detect strong celestial, fiendish, or undead presences within 60 feet until the end of her next turn. She knows the location and creature type of any such presence, but not its identity. She can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 plus her Charisma modifier, regaining all uses after a long rest.
- Lay on HandsLevel 1
Graves has a pool of healing power that restores a total of 5 hit points. As an action, she can touch a creature and draw power from the pool to restore hit points, up to the remaining amount. Alternatively, she can spend 5 hit points from the pool to cure one disease or neutralize one poison. This feature cannot affect undead or constructs, and the pool replenishes after a long rest.

Appearance
Entranzia Graves is a broad-shouldered human woman with iron-gray hair clipped close beneath a peaked military cap. Her weathered face bears a thin scar along the left cheek and a permanent crease between her brows. She wears a dark leather military coat with a thick gray fur collar, fitted chain mail beneath overlapping steel plates, reinforced gloves, and polished riding boots. Her longsword hangs at her left hip, while a compact army repeating crossbow, mechanically equivalent to a heavy crossbow, rests in a sling across her back. Her uniform is meticulously maintained, though its cuffs and collar show years of field use.
Mannerisms
Graves stands with her hands clasped behind her back whenever she is listening. She checks the alignment of nearby objects without seeming to notice she is doing it, corrects sloppy military terminology in casual conversation, and speaks names before issuing commands. When angry, she becomes quieter rather than louder.
Personality
Graves is controlled, exacting, and intensely observant. She remembers faces, ranks, promises, and failures with equal clarity. Beneath her severe exterior is a stern form of protectiveness. She is most comfortable when responsible for a group because responsibility gives her rules to follow and people to safeguard. She respects courage even in enemies, but has little patience for excuses, theatrics, or authority unsupported by competence.
Ideals
Order. A disciplined formation can survive what would destroy a crowd. Laws, ranks, and procedures exist to keep the weak from being trampled, and must be enforced even when enforcement is personally unpleasant.
Bonds
The soldiers of the abandoned 9th Line are her responsibility, even those who despise her. She carries their unit insignia and intends to find every surviving member, restore their names to the official record, and punish the officers who sacrificed them.
Flaws
Graves confuses obedience with virtue and is quick to punish hesitation, even when patience would produce a better result. She cannot easily admit uncertainty, especially in front of subordinates, and her instinct under pressure is to make an example of someone before examining her own assumptions.
Quirks
Background
Entranzia Graves was born in a hard-used frontier garrison where every citizen learned early that order was not an abstraction. It was the difference between a sealed gate and a raided town, between a marching column and a panicked mob. She entered the army as a penniless recruit and distinguished herself not through charm, but through absolute reliability. Graves memorized regulations, drilled until exhaustion, and learned to read a battlefield as a system of pressures, timings, and failures. Her rise to commissar came after she stopped a retreat from becoming a rout by forcing scattered soldiers back into formation, personally executing a deserter who had started a panic and then leading the survivors through an organized withdrawal. Her service eventually brought her into contact with a battered military shrine dedicated to a god of duty and righteous judgment. Graves did not seek divine favor, but she recognized something familiar in the prayers, a promise that discipline could become more than obedience and that strength could serve a lawful purpose. When her superiors abandoned an entire company to preserve their own careers, Graves refused the order to falsify the casualty rolls. Branded insubordinate by the same command she had served for decades, she left the army with her rank, uniform, and weapons intact. Now she travels as a paladin without a formal temple, imposing structure wherever she finds chaos and trying to determine whether justice can exist without becoming merely another name for fear.
