Appearance
Hunter Sinclair is a small, 4 foot tall wood elf with a lean, athletic build and the easy grace of a creature raised among the trees. He has dark brown, long, thick, lush hair that falls around his face and shoulders, bright alert eyes, and a quietly earnest expression. He moves with nimble balance, carries himself like an archer, and wears practical ranger gear fitted to his slight frame.
Mannerisms
He stands very still when listening, like an animal scenting the wind. When nervous, he taps a rhythm on his bow or hums a soft flute tune under his breath. He often crouches beside animals at eye level before speaking to them, and he politely offers food before he eats.
Personality
Hunter is brave, kind, and quietly persuasive, with a gentle voice and a watchful gaze. He is disciplined without being cold, and his youthful wonder survives beside a stern sense of duty. He loves beauty in motion, whether it is an arrow in flight, a running deer, or a clean vault through the branches, and he tries to meet the world with patience before force. When danger comes, his fear rarely shows before his courage does.
Ideals
Protection. The wild and the innocent deserve guardians who will stand between them and cruelty, even when the danger is overwhelming.
Bonds
He owes his life to the wild creatures that sheltered him, and he feels responsible for protecting every living thing that cannot protect itself.
Flaws
He sometimes trusts animals more quickly than people, and if he sees cruelty toward the weak, his judgment can become sharp and uncompromising. Because he is still so young, he can also be overly eager to prove himself, taking risks to show that he is not a helpless child anymore.
Quirks
Background
Hunter Sinclair was barely old enough to form lasting memories when the forest that raised him was torn open by dragon clan warriors. Fire rolled through the trees, birds fled the canopy, and the wild beasts that had guarded the little elf child scattered in terror. He survived by instinct, following the tracks, calls, and hidden paths of the woods the way other children follow a road. By the time he was found, he had learned to forage, to listen, and to trust the quiet wisdom of animals more readily than the voices of people. His birth family eventually took him in after he wandered from elf settlement to elf settlement, tired, soot-streaked, and stubbornly alive. They gave him a name, a home, and the patient guidance he had missed, but the forest had already shaped him into something enduring. Hunter became known as a quick study and a natural archer, excelling at camp drills and earning top marks at archery practice. He also learned the softer crafts of survival, cooking, baking, flute music, and the art of moving through the world without breaking its balance. Though still very young by elven standards, he carries himself with uncommon courage and a grave, protective kindness, determined that no child, beast, or innocent should be left defenseless as he once was.
