Appearance
A compact hill dwarf man with a broad, thoughtful face, warm brown skin, and a carefully braided beard threaded with small brass beads. His dark auburn hair is kept short beneath a worn scholar's cap. He speaks in a low, rounded voice with a faint musical cadence, and when anxious his breathing becomes noticeably deliberate, as though he is silently counting each breath. He habitually adjusts the brass clasp of his spellbook whenever he is thinking.
Mannerisms
Oluwole speaks gently and precisely, pausing to choose the least misleading word. When rattled, he draws slow breaths through his nose and touches the brass clasp of his spellbook three times before answering. He often tilts his head toward a source of sound, not from distrust, but from the habit of listening for hidden structure in every noise.
Personality
Quietly warm and intensely observant, Oluwole treats nearly every conversation as an opportunity to learn. He is patient with honest ignorance, protective of earnest students, and unexpectedly stubborn when someone dismisses a question as foolish. He prefers careful preparation to bravado, but once he believes someone is in danger, his caution gives way to firm, practical courage.
Ideals
Knowledge should be made useful. A discovery that cannot protect, heal, or enlighten ordinary people is only another form of hoarding.
Bonds
The missing records of the sealed dwarven observatory must be recovered before treasure hunters or tyrants find it first.
Flaws
When confronted with an unfamiliar mystery, he can become so absorbed in solving it that he neglects immediate danger, social obligations, and sometimes the feelings of people who are trying to help him.

Background
Oluwole Bronzebinder was raised in a hill-dwarf community where practical craft was considered the first form of scholarship. His family repaired survey instruments, mining ledgers, and old clan records, so he learned early that every object carried a history if one knew how to inspect it. Oluwole showed little talent for the forge, but an extraordinary patience for symbols, forgotten alphabets, and the small inconsistencies that revealed a false record. An itinerant human sage eventually recognized his gift and brought him to a city archive, where Oluwole studied magic alongside history, religion, and ancient languages. His apprenticeship ended after he discovered references to a sealed dwarven observatory whose location had been deliberately removed from several royal archives. The observatory was said to contain a star map capable of predicting changes in the deep earth, knowledge that could save mining settlements from disaster or place them at the mercy of whoever controlled it. Oluwole now travels as a cautious adventurer, gathering fragments of the truth while testing his book learning against the untidy realities of the world. He is determined to prove that scholarship is not an escape from responsibility, but one of the best ways to protect people.
