Appearance
Perchta is a broad-shouldered human man with weathered bronze skin, dark brown hair worn in a short braid, and a neatly trimmed beard threaded with a few gray hairs. His pale green eyes are patient and observant, though his low Dexterity gives him a slightly stiff, deliberate gait. He wears practical studded leather beneath a forest-green cloak, carries a longbow and a pair of blades, and keeps a small silver holy symbol of his temple tied beside his ranger's focus. His hands are often stained with ink, crushed leaves, and bowstring wax.
Mannerisms
Perchta speaks quietly and formally, as though every conversation were taking place inside a temple. Before entering a new area, he touches his holy symbol, scans the ground, and murmurs a brief blessing for those who may have passed there before him.
Personality
Perchta is patient, solemn, and compassionate. He listens carefully before speaking and prefers practical kindness to grand speeches. He has a dry sense of humor that appears unexpectedly, usually after several hours of hard travel or solemn prayer. Though he is physically imposing, he is gentle with children, animals, and anyone who is grieving.
Ideals
Mercy. Strength exists to shelter the vulnerable, not to dominate them. A righteous path is measured by the lives it preserves.
Bonds
The woodland shrine that raised him is his true home, and he will risk everything to protect its people, relics, and sacred grove.
Flaws
He cannot easily abandon someone in danger, even when doing so would be tactically wise. He also judges himself harshly for mistakes and sometimes mistakes stubbornness for devotion.

Background
Perchta was raised in a small woodland shrine where pilgrims came to pray for safe journeys, healthy harvests, and protection from the things that moved between the trees. As a boy, he copied prayers by candlelight, tended the shrine's herb garden, and learned that faith was not merely a matter of words. It was the responsibility to notice who was hungry, who was frightened, and who had failed to return home. His temple trained him in the rites of healing and remembrance, while the shrine's elderly groundskeeper taught him how to read tracks, identify plants, and follow a trail without disturbing the land. When a band of poachers began using the forest as a hunting ground for people as well as animals, Perchta left the shrine with his priest's blessing. He carries the temple's prayers into the wilderness, hunting those who prey upon the helpless and guiding lost travelers back to safety. He is not graceful, quick, or naturally stealthy, but he is strong, patient, and nearly impossible to discourage. To Perchta, every trail is a kind of scripture, and every life rescued is a prayer answered.
