She wears colorful wine-red and indigo robes over chain mail, tied with cords bearing tiny spider charms. Her curved longsword is lacquered black, and several concealed knives are sewn into her sleeves and sash.

Malice is quiet, observant, and intensely courteous in the manner of someone who believes etiquette is a weapon. She studies people as if they were traps waiting to reveal their mechanisms. Her faith is not theatrical. It is intimate, possessive, and absolute. She can show startling tenderness toward spiders, wounded servants, and anyone who reminds her of a frightened novice, but that tenderness turns instantly murderous when she believes Lolth's will has been defied.

Malice was born Aurelia Travra beneath the poisonous splendor of Menzoberranzan, the lesser daughter of a house that measured every child by her usefulness to Lolth. From infancy, she was prepared for priesthood, taught the sacred genealogies, the language of ritual, and the proper angle at which to kneel before a spider idol. Yet Malice never possessed the patience or obedience expected of a priestess. She excelled instead with the practice blade, learning to wait without moving, to read the instant before an opponent committed, and to turn ceremonial lessons into methods of killing. During a trial meant to expose her weakness, a swarm of spiders descended upon the training chamber and covered her without biting. In the center of the swarm, she received a vision of Lolth as mother, judge, and blade. The goddess did not grant Malice a title. She took away her old name. Aurelia Travra died that night, and Malice emerged as a weapon chosen to carry divine punishment beyond the walls of her house. She developed the Way of the Black Widow, a warped interpretation of surface samurai discipline that prizes deception, concealed weapons, poisoned steel, and absolute commitment to the strike. She now travels under Lolth's command, seeking enemies, escaped slaves, rival priestesses, and any weakness that might be offered to the Spider Queen as proof of devotion.
