Appearance
Silas is a strikingly handsome man who looks more like a nobleman than a nomad. He has meticulously groomed stubble and dark hair kept in a practical but stylish cut. He wears a set of fine crimson silk scarves layered over rugged bear-hide pauldrons. He stands tall with an athletic build that suggests power, but his expressive eyes and quick smile hint at a sharper mind than most barbarians possess.
Mannerisms
He constantly flips a gold coin over his knuckles while speaking. He often peppers his speech with grand gestures and intentional dramatic pauses.
Personality
Silas is a theatrical charmer who treats life like a stage play. He is warm and gregarious. He uses his imposing physical presence to draw people in rather than push them away. He is quick to offer a compliment or a joke, though he is always scanning the room for his next opportunity. Despite his high-born affectations, he possesses a volatile streak that he uses to his advantage in a con.
Ideals
Independence. I am a free spirit. No one tells me what to do or who to be.
Bonds
I fleeced the wrong merchant guild member and now have a bounty on my head that I need to pay off.
Flaws
I am far too fond of expensive things and will often risk a stable situation for a chance at a bigger, flashier score.
Quirks
Background
Silas grew up in the filth of a harbor city, surviving by his wits and his lungs. He quickly learned that people are more willing to part with their gold when they are either laughing or terrified. He spent years perfecting a persona known as 'The Iron Bear,' a supposedly untamable warrior from the wastes. He used this act to get free drinks, scare off competitors, and occasionally play the part of a hired muscle who accidentally destroyed property to encourage protection money payments. The line between the act and reality began to blur when a group of city guards actually cornered him. In a moment of pure, unadulterated panic, Silas felt a heat rise in his chest that was not feigned. He tore through the alley with a strength he did not know he possessed, leaving the guards bruised and baffled. Since then, he has found that his rage is a very real, albeit terrifying, reservoir of power that he can call upon when the silver tongue fails. He now wanders the world looking for marks that have more coin than sense. He dresses in fine silks under his animal furs, a walking contradiction of a man. While he still prefers a clever lie to a bloody axe, he has found that the life of an adventurer provides plenty of opportunities for both. He carries a forgery kit tucked inside his explorer pack, just in case he needs to become a traveling noble on a moments notice.
