Appearance
Ignis is a massive dragonborn with shimmering gold scales that look like polished metal. His eyes are a striking orange, reminiscent of a dying ember, and he always stands with perfect military posture. He wears heavy chain mail under a clean crimson tabard embroidered with the symbol of the Platinum Dragon. His equipment is meticulously maintained and devoid of dirt or scratches.
Mannerisms
He speaks in short, clipped sentences and rarely uses contractions or slang.
Personality
Ignis is stoic, formal, and deeply disciplined. He speaks with a measured tone and prefers the clarity of scripture over the ambiguity of social pleasantries. He believes that order is the only safeguard against the encroaching chaos of the world. While he can appear cold, his actions are always dictated by a strict sense of duty and the belief that the law must apply to everyone equally.
Ideals
The law is the only thing standing between civilization and the chaotic fires of the abyss.
Bonds
The High Priest who raised me is the only person who knows my true origin, and I must prove worthy of his teachings.
Flaws
I am inflexible and have little patience for those who do not follow protocol, often appearing cold or heartless to those in need.

Background
Ignis Veridian was discovered as a small hatchling on the basalt steps of the Sunward Cathedral, his golden scales reflecting the dawn. The clerics of Bahamut took him in, providing him with a childhood structured by prayer, study, and martial discipline. He never met another dragonborn during his formative years, which led him to view himself primarily as a vessel of divine law rather than a member of a species. This upbringing instilled in him a profound respect for hierarchy and the written word of the gods. His transition into the life of a paladin was a natural progression of his training as an acolyte. While others sought enlightenment through meditation, Ignis found it through the precision of the blade and the clarity of his holy oath. To him, the tenets of justice are not abstract concepts but living codes that must be enforced with absolute consistency. He served the cathedral as a guard and ritual assistant, his imposing presence a deterrent to those who would disrupt the sanctity of the temple. Now that he has reached adulthood, the High Priest has sent Ignis out into the wider world to retrieve stolen relics and enforce divine decrees where the temple reach is short. He carries his holy symbol as a reminder of his duty to maintain order in a world he views as dangerously chaotic. He seeks to build a legacy of law, believing that through strict adherence to duty, the light of the Platinum Dragon can finally extinguish the darkness of the lawless wilds.
