Appearance
Gorak is an orc man standing just over six feet tall, built from solid muscle and bone. His muted, earthy green skin is marked by old scars from countless battles. He has a broad face, square jaw, prominent upper tusks, a heavy brow, deep amber eyes, and cropped military hair. A jagged scar crosses his nose, while another follows his collarbone. In casual settings he wears a dark gray shirt, fitted black jacket, reinforced cargo pants, heavy combat boots, and a narrow silver ring. On missions he wears a matte black tactical vest, black gloves, reinforced clothing, magnetic-soled boots, and a tactical headset. His weapons are modern firearms and practical combat blades, represented mechanically by his ranger weapon proficiencies and starting equipment.
Mannerisms
Gorak checks exits whenever he enters a room, keeps his back to solid surfaces, and silently counts ammunition before every operation. He speaks in short, measured sentences and rarely repeats himself. When angry, he becomes quieter rather than louder. He touches the silver ring on his right hand whenever he is forced to discuss Nyx.
Personality
Blunt, direct, and intensely grounded in physical reality, Gorak speaks little and prefers action to explanation. He respects competence above all else. He is slow to trust, but once trust is earned, his loyalty becomes nearly immovable. He dislikes performative cruelty, empty boasting, and anyone who mistakes noise for strength. Beneath his severe exterior is a disciplined protector who notices every injury, missing weapon, and change in team morale.
Ideals
Purpose. Violence is unavoidable, but waste is not. Gorak believes strength exists to shield the team and complete the mission, never to satisfy pride.
Bonds
The Stalker unit saved Gorak when no one else would. He will protect its members without hesitation, even when the mission demands sacrifice.
Flaws
Gorak assumes every promise has a hidden cost. He is slow to forgive betrayal, quick to distrust charm, and sometimes treats emotional vulnerability as a tactical liability. When old memories surface, he becomes rigid and controlling, convinced that one overlooked detail will get everyone killed.
Quirks
Background
Gorak was raised among an orc warband that valued endurance, discipline, and the ability to protect the person standing beside you. He learned early that strength without control was merely another form of weakness. As a young warrior, he joined the Iron Fist mercenary company, where he became known for relentless efficiency, careful battlefield judgment, and an instinct for finding the one position from which a losing fight could still be won. His service earned him scars, rank, and a reputation for never abandoning an assigned objective. Everything changed when the Iron Fist was broken during an operation against Nyx. Gorak was captured, subjected to forces he still struggles to describe, and left with a heightened sensitivity to distant thoughts, hostile intent, and the strange pressure that gathers before violence. He escaped with the Stalker unit, but the experience fractured his sense of self. Among them, he found something more durable than trust, shared blood and purpose. Now he serves as a Hunter Ranger, tracking threats through ruined cities, training grounds, and hostile territories. He fights neither for glory nor vengeance. He fights because someone must see the danger first, and because the Stalker team is the only family he has left.
