By adulthood, Draco had become a wandering performer, confidence artist, and occasional rescuer of people who could not afford official justice. His most successful identity was that of Lord Tavian Vale, a minor noble supposedly traveling incognito. The persona opened doors in three cities and earned him enough money to live comfortably, until he used it to expose a magistrate who had framed an innocent family. Draco escaped with his life, but not before the magistrate's agents burned his room and destroyed the papers that supported his many names. Now he travels under his birth name, though he keeps Lord Vale alive as a last resort. He adventures for money, excitement, and the chance to prove that a clever lie can sometimes do more good than a rigid truth.
